River God by Wilbur Smith and its 3 sequels are really good if your into ancient Egypt and stuff. I recommend them.
I read all that shit, all his stuff is sick, spesh power of the sword and that series,
i also reccomend, vince flynn, CLIVE CUSSLER (epicly entertaining books all pretty much out of the same mold but when your onto a winner dont change it) and props chris ryan, he pretty rad
other than that i have HUNDREDS or maybe even a thousand books lying around my room,
oh and SHANTARAM is an amazing novel by gregory roberts i think :s but yeh definately worth a read

Where did you get it from?
my grandfather, borrowed it off him, hes austrian and from that time
Charles Bukowski.
Early Matthew Reilly - I don't like the last couple much - too long & involved
Chris Ryan/Andy McNab are OK
World War Z
Clive Cussler definitely
Stephen F Donaldson
Peak Everything by Richard Heinberg
Touching the void by Joe Simpson (epic true survival story)
Deep Survival (who lives, who dies and why) by Laurence Gonzales
Don't bother with Harry Potter.

catch 22 is the best book ever.
hunter s thompson is always good... reading kingdom of fear at the moment. not as good as his books that are about an actual event/thing (hells angels, fear and loathing), mainly because he was pretty old when he wrote it.. but it's still got the classic hunter humor and well worth the read.

I don't read too much fiction, at least in the last 15yrs.
Just wondering if you guys have thoughts on Catcher in the rye?
I thought it was crap, thoroughly boring and uneventful. Or have I missed something?
