It's absolutely true! From someone close to Nugget, DC approached Nugget after Street League, made him an offer. Nike countered, which basically started a bidding war, with DC parting with a BIG chunk of change to sign him. Basically came down to Shane getting a pro shoe immediately from DC with no absolute promise of a pro model from Nike.

Personally I feel like Nike gave Nugget a name and without them, he might still be in Australia trying to make it. No doubt the kid has talent, but Nike gave him the opportunity to travel, skate with dudes like P-Rod, Stefan, and the rest of the team, and basically learn from the best in the biz. Just like the rest of DC's skate team, Nugget is just going to get lost in the shuffle over there. Especially if the Cole rumors are true, he may get an ad to announce him, and then down into DC obscurity he will go. I personally feel like skating for DC is like signing your skate career's death certificate, but hopefully it does work out for him...' lameee

with the way he's skating and the way skateboarding is heading i very much doubt he will ever fade into obscurity. well at least not until he brings out a video game or endorsing energy drinks.

he's been on nike since he was 13 and yeah what googo said, basically has opened a million and one doors for him, doubt he would be that selfish and walk away for money, who wants a pro shoe on dc anyway..

i heard something about berra going to dc for 1.4 mil or something and im a little bit curious to see what nuggets shoe would look like if he made the decision to go to dc.

DC suck... Nike is a class act.

But, nugget is always going to be side-kick to p-rod if he stays on the same team. If the $$$ was THAT much more then I can't blame him but if the Nike package wasn't far off then I think it would be unwise to go to DC. If he keeps demanding as much attention as he has been lately then Nike will give him a show when the time is right.

Then again, skateboarding can be a fickle bitch so if DC are gonna set him up for life then may as well sell your soul.

I think it's worth noting, a shoe from DC is not even the same as a shoe-lace sponno for Nike.

A big enough paycheck is enough to make anyone switch. Nike has children busting guts in Asian sweatshops to make a bit more money, on top of the millions they already have and continue to make. Sure, nugget may have a small fortune himself, but that added incentive of more will have most people considering a swap. It's not selfish, it's human nature.

All I know is the man is bring street league to Melbourne.....

i dont thik he would go to DC, but then again depends on how much money they are offering him.
And to be honest the DC tonik shoes are probably up amongst some of the best shoes ive skated in. Barely have to wear them in and they still last a decent amount of time. especially for the price.

I usually agree with most your posts. But losing fans? I dont think so dude. I know I dont just like skateboarders for the shoes/clothes they wear. I like them for their skill/personality/steeze, call it whatever you like but its a pair of shoes not a person.
