It would be wack if he went to DC, DC fucking sucks.
He suits nike and he's been on since the start, I'd definitely like him less.

Well aren't you a shit cunt. You dont know his position at all.
Ssingha_is14 Dec 2010
go to where you would make more money durrhh

K I havent really shed an opinion on this at all so here it is...

Nugget is a great skateboarder, but I can't help but feel that he's the love child of a late night sex romp between p-rod & Cory Kennedy when I watch him skate lately... I'm not at all hating on nugget I'm just telling you what I think, and I only base that comparison on the way he skates vs the way he dresses, to me I really don't think nugget has found his true style... Face it he has the ability to put Soooo much more into his skating and if he decides to go to DC then maybe it's just a step he feels he needs to take in order to achieve what he wants to do...

Hes a smart kid, im sure what ever decision he makes company wise for his career he'll have put a fair amount of thought in to it, whether some people like it or not. Id gladly trade my 9-5 job to be in his position...

every company sucks. Who cares what he rides for
Ii wear moccos14 Dec 2010
At least he could get Ken Block driving shoes if he went to DC..
Ddubs14 Dec 2010
Billabong will snap him up, just watch.

Element skateboards and clothing
Lakai shoes
VZ sunnies
Da Kine Backpacks
Nixon watches
Tigerlilly bikinis

he will have the best part in the new Element flick and will fandangle the Blumfluff rail.

My 2 cents for all up and coming pro skater boi's

The adulation of teenagers won't pay for your daughter's braces in 15 years time.

Your acl is only 8mm away from ending your career. How long does your current contract oblige your sponsor's to keep you fed and warm when you've front flipped your last 13 stair.

Thank you Mr Dawson!
I dont understand all the hate?
Its like when Lebron moved to Miami everyone saying his turning his back on his fans rah rah no, its a business its his 9-5 and how he gets paid, the dude wanted a 'promotion' to help him try and win a ring and he couldnt see himself doing that with Cleveland.

Its the same for Nugget the dude is a ripper without a doubt but its a business, its his 9-5 job (well the hours may be out but you get the idea!) haha, he;s obviously getting more money, possibly getting a shoe and he gets to hang at the fantasy factory and get energy drink tattoos!

Your telling me if you got offered a new role in a company that does the same thing your currently doing except they give you a pay rise and your own office you wouldnt take it because the company your currently with was your first job?
Ccharly sir15 Dec 2010
bunch of faggots, yeah dc is chat but as if you would like nugget any less for doing whatever the fuck he wants to do
TTupac15 Dec 2010
But seriously though, who cares?

People are frankly too critical of peoples sponsorship decisions.

Skateboarders inevitably have an extremely short window of opportunity to make as much cash from their talents/marketability as they can.

Shane has always seemed like a pretty chilled and level headed guy and I'm sure he's aware of this.

Skateboarders are professional athletes and needs to treat their career accordingly.

As it's only a rumour, no-ones really in a position to make comment on his decisions, however I suspect that getting a Pro Shoe would be a huge thing for Nugget. And if he does, then I'm psyched for him.

Whilst I appreciate that loyalty is extremely important, do you really think Nike would still support him if he were to stop skating as well as he is? If he wasn't a marketable/profitable asset for them, they'd undoubtedly dump him.

Everyone acts in their own best interests. It's the way the world works whether we like it or not. Sounds like a move to DC (if the rumours hold true) would be in Shane's best interests financially and for that I say well done and wish him all the best with it.

I don't think the arguement is about security, as much as it is about wearing shit shoes for cash, or selling out, for want of a better term.. Any company that continued to sponsor a skater who wasn't performing is bound to fail if you ask me, It's business, not charity..
PPIG..15 Dec 2010
And in no way do I disagree with you when you say that it's a business and not a charity. It'd represent a level of altruism completely contrary to a successful business model (not that many charities are themselves altruistic).

'Selling out' however, is an argument easily made by people with no vested interest in the situation. If he made a decision based on the potential financial gain, then I say well done.

If he rides for Nike or DC or Dunlop, it makes no difference to me. If he is still skating as well as he has been and still makes me shake my head at the unbelievable tricks he's been doing, then I truly couldn't care whether he was wearing a pair of Nike Janoski's or a pair of pork chops (Reference : http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2002/06/27/1023864634063.html)

Why hasn't someone just called Nugget to confirm either way?!

You could get props for having Nuggets number AND also confirm the details to end this thread.
