This may sound dumb, but maybe changing lenses in a black soft material (maybe felt) bag like clapper/loaders do when loading film into movie cameras would reduce the risk of dust on sensors.

re: Miscellaneous Pictures This little fella let me put my lense as close as it would focus to him and just sat there. Took about 11 shots whilst changing settings till he just walked off

re: Miscellaneous Pictures You really like depth of field shots don't you Newidude. Me too.

This little buggar kept attacking the lens as I got close to him. One lucky shot out of a whole bunch. I learnt the hard way that it's a good idea to shoot sequences a long time ago.

Blue tongue lizard. Rottnest Island. October 04.

Yeah shallow depth of field shots are sick. Always good when you want the viewer to only focus on what your taking the photo of. Well thats obvius, we have no choice anyway when everything else is out of focus. But you know what i mean, like if theres a shot with lots of other crap in it and u only want to show the viewer what your taking the pic of, its handy if your camera can do it.

dust is just a fact of digital life. Rumours are around saying that you should turn off your camera before changing lenses because when powered up the sensor is 'charged' and attracts dust. All manufacturers say this is false and that they wont attract any more dust whether on or off. Best bet is to do it quick and facing down (not on a dusty road on a windy day). And use a blower when you see things showing up.

the charged sensor attracting dust kinda does make sense. just like in primary school when you learn about static electricity. you charge a comb by running it through your hair then pick up little pieces of paper with the comb.

re: Miscellaneous Pictures hahhaha did you eat it hahahahahha

this pic is my dads work, he's just got into photography recently and loves it. He has an Cannon EOS300D, i think that's right anyway. This shot was taken when he was in Hanoi, he loves it and there's like 5000 more where that came from including some great ones of cows.
