Those were the settings but meh, it's too soft. I think I should of used a smaller aperture. Here's one that's much the same.

Would it be the large apeture or the poor quality lens that causes it to be so soft?

My GUESS is that it was shot hand held instead of tripod and the slightest movement at camera end at such a long focal = alot of movement at subject end. Ever tried to view the moon with a powerful telescope? Your viewing time is in seconds before you have to adjust the telescope for the same reasons. Maybe have bumped the iso to shoot at a faster shutter? thats my guess.
