Please leave you thoughts on the additions to Westbeach skatepark in the Coping Cabana thread in the parks forum.

Apparently the plaza may not happen and a bowl is likely to be the next addition, maybe with a street/park style bit.
If nothing else I think the street/park design should be redesigned to be less generic.

I have sent an email to the council and given them a link to that thread.

I think Westbeach would be an amazing park with a plaza or at least a better street design. It would be a place where you can skate any type of terrain and would help turn out a lot more well rounded skaters.
There won't be another opportunity to have such a well rounded park for a long long time.

Put in your thoughts on what should go in there and why. Please think about what you write. Saying fuck yeah street park or fuck off put a bowl there won't really interest the council.

just walking through red tile on my lunch break and like 10 groms came to skate it and i saw them all running away (security or some form of gettin kicked out) and when i got to the 10 stair there were still a couple there, conversation went like this...

GROM 1: "Why they running man?"

It looks as though either a plaza or a larger bowl will be going in next.

It's your chance to have a say on what you want, so put your opinion forward whatever your preference is.

The plans for Westbeach are being changed. I'm not really 100% on what is happening now, but I have asked for the new plans when they come through. Even they will be able to be modified. I personally think the park type street area (not the plaza, that looked sick) of the old design was pretty boring and should be re done.

Sorry, there is still a very good chance the plaza or at least the street type park area will go in next.

I am planning on making up a form on which people can voice their opinion on what they want so as to give a true representation of what is wanted/needed for Westbeach. Obviously not everyone comes on this site so it will be more accurate. That may not be until the release of the new plans so please continue to comment in the other thread as well.
