I gotta disagree Andre, even though I haven't done anything in previous years.
If people get hyped about it and his memory makes people want to get out there and do something and all skate together that is sick.
It doesn't matter that people didn't know him personally, it matters that his memory is creating something positive. There'll be thousands of skaters all over Aus doing something that day that didn't actually meet him. I also think that both him and his family/friends would be stoked to know that.

On a semi related note, it's really good when local crew get together to put on something. Not much happens in Adelaide and laws make it even harder for business' to do anything these days, so individuals taking it upon themselves to organize stuff is sick! It's also even better to see as the only motivation is for skateboarding.
If anyone is putting something on i am more than keen to help out in anyway i can, ie product, Flyers etc.
I would put something together but i have too much on my plate at the moment..
shread for shane is a great idea but i just dont like the thought of some people getting on the shread for shane bandwagon, in saying that like andy said its a great day to show your respect to his family and any chanc to get everyone skating together is a good thing, but im sure shane real friends dont need one certin day for him im sure hes in there minds everytime they skate, like ive said before ive never met the guy but he seemed like a great guy and done wonders for australian skateboarding so i have the up most respect for him.
and i think we should all take sean up on hes support maybe get something going in the cooler seasons,bucause the only thing making adelaide skateboard good again is ADELAIDE SKATEBOARDING
