i lack orginatly i know. but ive been at uni and i just had to get it changed. now the curse is broken.......

Hey we got a drummer who's into metal lined up for a jam next week. Hopefully he's the goods and we'll be on our way to a band. Already got a bass player. I'll probably want a second guitarist, and yeah not sure if I wanna sing or not yet - have to see how things go, whether I can pull it off for live, or just if I could be bothered. Plus if we get a singer in then I won't have to write the lyrics anymore.

Ah well, actually we're gonna jam with this sax player as well in the next couple of weeks, but that'll be more just a casual thing - that'll probably get a bit funky.
But yeah for the band, until we can get other people in that actually write songs, we'll probably just be doing the shit that I write.

haha nah I hate pretending to write something that means something. Seomtimes it happens, but usually lyrics are a forced thing for me. I guess I just don't have all emotional issues and life drama's to moan and carry on about.
The last song I wrote that had a bit of meaning or was actually about something was an acoustic number about turning up to find heaps of scooters at the park and knowing it's gonna be a dud skate hahaha

just write stupid funny songs, or just string a bunch of words together and then you have a very deep metaphorical song....

im not muhc of a lyrical person myself. i dont reakon i could even remeber the lyrics to my favorite song....

Yeah that's pretty much what I do eh. Like I'll just scat along to the song to get a bit of a melody, then I'll usually get a line or two for the chorus or something, and then just string some junk together that yeah I guess could be pretty open to interpretation.
It's funny with my family eh - I'll tell them I recorded a new song, and they'll go "what's it about?" haha "I dunno I just liked the riff..." haha

The second most recent song I done, the music reminded me of running for some reason. So I came out with this -
Running, the demons are hot on my tail.
Escape is the only respite from the shadow.
Time is not on my side, but still I run,
Run to the place of my truth.

Then I couldn't be bothered with lyrics for the "chorus" type section, and it only comes up once anyway, and then there's another little section after that that I didn't worry about lyrics for too haha. And it only has two verses so I just repeat the same verse again haha and then there's a solo in the middle. Comes in at about 2 minutes haha

Nah instrumental stuff is a lot of work, and most people get too bored with it (as in bored listening to it). I usually mix the vocals down a little low anyway so you can't really hear the lyrics properly haha

I feel sleepy now after lunch. I got a whole bunch of milkshake in my belly.

haha nah I should be right Mosu. Just been massaging the fuck out of it. It bends ok - I think there's just muscle strain to clear up. Hopefully back on board next weekend...if I can remember how...
