SCHOOL IS OUT AND SKATES ARE ON
For immediate release 13 December 2012
Kingborough Council’s Youth Services is running a Skate Day at Taroona Skate Park from
midday on Sunday 16 December.
Kingborough Council Youth Outreach Worker Troy Williams said the day should attract about
150 people with about 30 who would actually compete.
“Music will be provided by a DJ to get everyone pumped and ready for some exciting action.
It will be a day for people to showcase their skills but those watching are sure to have just as
much fun watching thrills and spills,” he said.
“It is a great way to finish off the school year for kids and a fun way to get them outside and
active. I would encourage families to come along and make a day of it.”
Event categories are 14 and under, 17 and under, Open and a separate girls’ event. Skaters
can register at Jimmy’s Skate and Street shop, Kingborough Council or on the day at the
event.
Prizes will be awarded in all categories.

the new Park
by Taroona he means Tolosa, fuck it looks mental!
woops my bad, Tolosa! Thanks Lewi :o)
fuck yes! the corner pieces look sick
My buddy mentioned his Park building friend is down here atm working on a new park - my guess Bruny Island is underway?
First scrapings at Tolosa today... and there will be concrete on the ground by weeks end. Rob will be building Bruny as well, starting in a couple of weeks. Two new parks in the next two months.
The 'bewbs' in the tolosa design are getting reworked, with a bit of free form action, and the volcano may end up with an interesting lip feature. Seats and tables etc, will have to wait till we get some more cash next financial year. Bruny is going to be different than the design proposed... gonna be a bit more free-form/make it up as they go.... construction crew are all skaters.
Happy Birthday to Tassie skate legend Andrew Many!
...starts in a couple weeks. Not big, but should be fun. Pool has pool coping.
