my parents bought me the tickets for my 18th and im going to be working as a snowboard instructor when i arrive there so i will only need a grand or two to support me until my first pay check.

fuck thats unreal, i was thinking od doing that for a gap year.

do u need working visas and shit like that?
do u need any qualifications?
how did u apply?
what resort?

sorry for all the questions, but i'm really curious and seriously thinking about it.

got back from nz..the snow was pritty shity but i had some fun were is me at treble cone

u reckon u cud just mail it in a normal 50c envelope? it's just that shit gets bright in spring with the fog lense on, and i've checkout out deja vu and they dnt have spare lenses as well as my local motox shop who stock spy goggles and he reckons he cant get them in.

Hey JV you need a visa, it's not hard to get for canada but its probably too late for this coming season. canada you can get a one year (extendable to 2) no problems as long as you dont have a criminal record.. the states is a bit more strict, laws might have changed as i was over there a few seasons ago, you get a 4 month working visa but you kind of need to show to them that you are definately going to return home
if you ever get the chance to do a season up there then go, you'll have the best time ever, riding every day and meeting people from all over the world.

anyone thats taught/teaching in canada: do you need your instructor certificate? do you just use an aus one? do you just do a coarse with one of the aus resortes?

all you need to do is apply with IEP www.iep.com.au at the start of next year. they guarantee you a job in whistler.

for a snowboard instructor job you need a certificate before you start working but not necessarily before you get the job. you can do a course upon you arrival in canada.

thanks man. and what level would you say you would have to be at? iv been riding about 4 years, quite competent, can ride switch, etc... i guess its hard to describe skill levels.
also, i heard that the australian level 1 certificate was the equiv of the canadian level 2 or 3. can anyone confirm this?

how would i go about obtaining this level 1 cert.?

also, it says they only give out 7500 working holiday visas a year, and you need to be 18 at the time to apply at the start of the year, that pretty much rules me out, cos i wont b 18 untill july!

theyre pipe looks so legit, they ruined the video with all those horrible sponsor shots though... went to buller on the weekand and the season is over, park was still fun but conditions are shit house...lifties are saying theirs only 2 weeks left give or take

yeh i think my season is over. this season has been my most fun to date - a lot of fun times. next time i head up will be for the trigger brothers end of season bbq HYPE!
