Looking for accomodation for me and the lady so need advice
also, i'll be hiring everthing literally everything so should i hire in melbs (which I would need to pick up on monday or tues morning and drop off on thursday so itsa a longer hire) - at some place below the snow line or just aat the resort.
i know baw baw isn't much chop but in the interest of time (and money) and because she is a beginner then we chose that instead of the falls

when you hire stuff from city shops (auski, altitude ect..) they let you pick up and drop off days for free; eg, you will pick up on 30th june, drop off on 3rd july and only pay for 2 days.
it's better value there i reckon, and the gear is alot better; it hasnt been thrashed by asians for the last 10 years without being waxed or repaired.

Snow conditions are getting better and hopefully that next front might deliver some goodness...
The Thredbo cams show that the snow guns are finally filling in the bottom of the milk run and it won't be too long now until there is enough snow to open the super trail! I'm still sitting in Qld waiting for the conditions to be spot on so maybe i'll head on down in the 1st week of July!

I'm now half thinking of changing to MT BULLER but the accomodation seems to be the problem at both locations - BAW BAW has none and Buller costs a lot.
The Buller website is not as easy to use

maybe try something at the bottom of the hill in mansfield like the alzberg resort or similar. they have good prices and the missus might like it more.
i've stayed there before and it's really good. they have a bar/resteurant, place to party and they have a spa in most rooms with a foxtel telly right there! they also have larger, seperate spa and sauna bit. it's a decent place to shack up if your willing to drive up the hill...
