^^ haha exactly, and if you're sparx then be extremely talented on your board and sexy to boot, mappy be a fucking legend and a ripper, troy i don't personally know but Jack is always telling me how good a bloke he is, and if you're me then just be asian, (and overly obsessed with your job)

I was thinking the exact same thing this morning, how does one go about getting a job in the skate industry? Especially filmers and photographers? Does it include like an interview and portfolio, gnarly filming or photography steeze or just knowing the right people?

Get a job in a skate shop and work your ass off and then if you are not a jerk it should come your way

from what I can tell "the industry" pays pretty shit if you're just an employee

seems like most people do it because they love it, dont get into it if your just looking to make money

I heard if you work for free you can be the team manager of any company you want.. Probably not the best thing for our industry and keep the fuck wits out... Seems even in these hard times fuck wits are still trying to stay with skateboarding and are not going back to the industries they truly belong in...

I know the principle you're basing this off and it makes sense in some ways, but i don't think it's a 'golden rule'... probably because that's how i helped get my foot in the door but i reckon its about the circumstances... for me it was i was really interested in learning about the position and had to take baby steps, and when things went down at Stussy and the program was about to get canned, I stepped up and said I would help out because if i didn't they were going to stop it all together and alot of my friends that were being supported would lose that support.... i wasn't in a place to ask for a salary, and my 'job description' was really basic but a good place to learn a couple things, and from there on I was fortunate to work for other companies that i also really cared for but because I had that experience from Stussy it was a proper TM position...
if you're doing it for the right reasons, then usually that should justify it especially if like "fuker" was asking just some ways to break in... it's gotta be for the love of it cuz it sure ain't for the paycheck. I think most people that got into it had to do something like that.. almost like an intern thing to get their foot in the door. And once you're in and get the experience then you go from there... i know Trev you don't like me very much, but perhaps if you actually learned who i am and what i'm trying to do things maybe a bit different... shoot me an email sometime, i know you're busy but it's the3stripes@gmail.com (was just going to try to email you buy couldn't find your email on your site)

My mum told me to be wary of single childless men involved in youth activities in a volunteer capacity. I think there was an incident with Akela at cubs.
