Reese Forbes or Paul Sharpe?
LLudo.10 Nov 2009
Hawk in that trick comp from a few years back. Did it ramp to ramp on a burning rail.
DDavo 215310 Nov 2009
I am going to put a Rodrigo TX out there too...he did a whopper at Darling Harbour.

kicky-back-tail = Arto in that 411 euro edition, at a comp years ago in the beginning of his career...!

I really was thinking off flat on the KFBSTS question. All the dudes mentioned have good pop but TX and James Craig are the only two I can think of with definite examples of that trick done really high off flat.

Diego Bucchieri did some tall ones too now I think of it.

Anyhow I have thought of a good question for the weekend...

Two skaters both had photos run in Transworld of the same trick, at the same spot, in the same issue, with the only difference being the angle the photos were shot from and that one was run as editorial while the other was run as an ad.

A couple of clues - they are street skaters, one is still pro, the other isn't.

Who are the skaters? And what was the trick and spot?
Ddeeemon13 Nov 2009
i know this isn't the answer your looking for jarrah but around 2003 caswell berry and dustin both had bs blunt down country rd in an issue of transworld. funnily in that same issue there was a kasper article and it talked of why they didn't run his only non stair/gap photo because it had already been used...

I'm sure many want this thread to die .... sorry to dissapoint you all.

Another clue for the same trick on the same spot run in the same mag question.

The mag was Transworld circa 2000, and the spot was a reasonably high ledge off a 6 stair.

Can anyone name the skaters and the trick they both did.
Bbeerspit17 Nov 2009
is the spot still being sessioned?
YYahbrain17 Nov 2009
Can't think of any recent coverage of it Darren. Featured quite heavily in the mags around that time so is probably a bust now considering the lack of photos of it now.
Another clue - its backside for regular footers. So it's not the gap out to ledge that Mariano switch crooked and everyone else hit for a while.

Alright, another clue.

Same trick, same spot, same issue but one was an ad. The one run as an ad featured the words "sorry" but was not a flip ad. ie: "sorry, just another..... (inset trick name here)"
Bbraddox19 Nov 2009
Isn't that the Mike Carrol line, sorry it's just another frontside flip?

Carrol and, maybe, Muska frontside flip somewhere???
YYahbrain19 Nov 2009
Ahhh Braddox you are definitely heading in the right direction. Not MC, Muska or a frontside flip though. Trick was on a ledge off a six stair.
DDavo 215319 Nov 2009
Was it the ledge that P-Rod did nollie front nose on in Yeah Right? Big concrete one...danny garcia switch-k, Jason Dill back smith, Appleyard switch back tail...etc
Bbeerspit20 Nov 2009
davo's thinking.. that spot was popular back then. i cant think of a pic of carrol skating it ? front crooks maybe? was carrol even one of the dudes in question? i'm drawing blanks here.. and how did tws even run this shamozzle? thats rude.. was it a girl ad?
YYahbrain20 Nov 2009
Pretty sure its the spot Davo is referring too. Can't recall many of the tricks he mentioned on it but Danny Garcia switch crooks seems familiar. Its a highish grey concrete ledge off a six stair. The ad in question was a Girl ad but not Carroll, shot from below, the other photo of a different dude doing the same trick run as editorial was shot from further away. The ad was run a round the same time as the "Sorry, just another kickflip over the Lukaing gap" that Carroll had.

There is an amazing feature up on the Slap website at the moment with Jamie Thomas doing a commentary for his Welcome to Hell part. Worth checking out.
DDavo 215320 Nov 2009
What is amazing is that you cant recall Appleyards switch back tail....or Dills back smith....watch Sorry again. Dills trick is in Artos part....radical.

davo baulkham hills
haha
DDavo 215320 Nov 2009
Thats me mate, born and bred.
Question related...pretty sure BA had a backtail pic on that ledge for a Girl ad....but who else did it?
DDavo 215322 Nov 2009
Pretty sure the other guy who did it was Stephan Janoski...?
YYahbrain23 Nov 2009
Same ledge that you are thinking of Davo (I checked Dill's back smith in Arto's part).

Not a back tail, or BA, or Janoski though.

I'll let you guys know the trick - Frontside noseslide - see if you can figure out who the two peeps doing it were. 1 is a girl rider obviously, the other was someone who came up as an incorrect answer on the backlip Hubba question.
