looks fun as fuck. i dont go to parks to lay down hammers and wrecked, so a park with little jibs like that is just wat i look, fun easy to rip. id be stoked if it was my local.

having said that. ive skated mannum park which they built. and while it has one the best bowls thats well worth the 1-2+ hour drive for anyone in adelaide. the rest of the park is pretty poorly laid out. i think thats the main problem. what they put in seems to be sick, just they have layout problems going on.

I think in 30 years time future skaters will look back at these parks and think 'what the fuck were they thinking?' Tranny without platforms? Who the fuck's bright idea was that? That's a liability for sure.

That being said, this park does has some pretty cool/unique features and I'm keen to see what tricks will be laid out on them.

Clip makes it look super good, but that is for two reasons - 1. almost no one else on it and 2. those guys are quick footed and skilled.

For me it looks like a disaster zone waiting to happen, but that is cause I am old and grumpy.

The obstacles separately would be pretty good, but things like that open ended metal box set up beside it looks pretty deadly if you end up running into it or fall in that direction.

Drove past and had a better look too, so as long as there are not a million scooter kids there, it should be good.

Horrible. Once again another park that is 3 feet and not rising... Waste of money with stupid coloured concrete and no platforms. It's an insult!

This is nothing what people say it to be. Its perfect, the park is relatively small but its not 'squished' in. Perfect little park imo 5/5

I just want to bloody skate it!

I asked the security man there yesterday when it opens. He didn't say much, but something about this weekend maybe.

Should get all Pontus Alv on that rock pile in the middle. Take them all away, put a DIY bowl in there.

Kinda have the feeling that kids will get their suburban skatepark cliche into action and throw rocks all over the park if they are left there.

It does look fun though regardless. As they say, anything is better than nothing.

Still has fences up and a lot of wet messy dirt / topsoil all round the whole park, but I drove past yesterday afternoon just for another look and ended up skating it with a fair number of others for an hour or two.

The bit I am most curious about is the blue parts which are normal concrete with a glazed finish on them - kind of slippery at times, but I didn't go near them. Others who were there had no issue with them for the most part.

It is a very small park and people were constantly running into each other, with maybe ten dudes who were watching out / running the same lines, but still having issues, so when it is fully done and open, I would imagine there would be many more collisions and be hard to get one lap round it without getting in someone's way or running into someone else.

Platforms of ramps / banks / obstacles with no backs means lots of issues with falling over, especially if the other sides have a significant drop to big sharp rocks though...

Nice try, but how long before Council is going to get sued from someone slipping over and splitting their head open in the middle area?

Maybe they have to grow the grass from seed before opening... ??

Just went to go for a skate and it started raining.

Wonderful sunday afternoon.

Got to hit it when i was home a week or so ago. Its really fun, cool little lines and some nice jibs. The 1/4, banks etc with no platform is completely stupid as is the blue concrete (which isnt slippery). As much as i like raw crete, they could have put some angle on the ledge on the bank, it wont last long. All in all its pretty good. That crap in the middle needs to go however. Why dont they just build basic parks anymore? Look at Kurarby, some 13 years old and still draws a crowd.
