damn i kinda thought there would be decent snow that time of the year. somewhere close to tokyo would be good, although i wouldn't have thought the train would take that long to go anywhere in japan. might just sus it out when i get there
I think you greatly overestimate the Japanese public transport system and/or the size of the country...
It's going to take you at least 2.5-3 hours to get anywhere skiable

I've only been to hakuba & Nozawa onsen on that list & I really don't think there's much snow there in November. According to ski japan it's a risk going in December. http://www.snowjapan.com/the-japan-ski-and-snowboard-season
I'm based at Perisher for the season.. Everything was going great until it rained today..
This was all snow:
New Zealand is pretty good at the moment. Cheap flights over here too. Get it.
