Mark Brimson, for someone who apparently has nothing to do with this place you seem to have gotten awfully fired up about a bit of sk8parx hate? Trying to work out where the butthurt is coming from, did you try something similar and get torn a fresh one?
are they taking applications for the cool guy panel? I have been a cool guy for years
Funny really... I just sometimes like to research and annoy - sort of like Skate and Destroy only right now I am too sick / headcold with no balance to be able to skate so I have to do something to pass the time. I guess this was it right about the time I got back in from a long working week away.
I think too when someone else starts / ends with "someone or so and so can get fucked" which seems a little too far or a very uneducated statement, I don't mind taking the other side just to push a few buttons and give a "get fucked" right back at 'em.
I do find it really funny when people complain about places like Godbowl being only open to skate a couple of days a week and then try to break in and ride it, then wonder why they are getting in trouble, or why they are not able to or allowed to ride it. If it is a public facility, you can ride it whenever you like. If it is private, you have to respect the rules of the place if you want to use it at all.
In response to the Maccas playground, they make those things to comply with all safety standards so people WILL NOT get hurt. For something like the Burrito Bowl, they could have made a 2 foot deep mellow little dish that anyone (even me) could do pivot fakie or nose blunts on all day every day, which would have been fine to let everyone ride, but like the guys at Godbowl, they wanted to make something special and difficult to ride so it would be more of a challenge than a simple easy little bowl that people would get tired of sooner or rather than every other type of park / bowl around - something that would push your limits and maybe hurt you if you pushed too far - how often do you get something like that?
The Godbowl 10 year special is happening this Wednesday night too.
Good times I am sure.
Did I mention I really like a good burrito too? Or any burrito really...
I effin love burritos as well... and skateboarding is ok too. It seems people have more of a problem with the press release than the fact they can't skate the bowl, which is kind of understandable, the press release was a bit patronising and kooky. It probably could have been worded differently...
Anyway good luck to the owner/s, building a bowl in a Mexican restaurant gets my worthless tick of approval and if I find myself in the area I'll pop in for a Fajita (without my board).
