Iimgne_3 June 2013
Thats it.... I'm now going to focus every 24 skateboard that I see, this is fucked!
Ddrew3 June 2013
come on imgne, i hope this isn't that tall poppy syndrome?
:)
Iimgne_3 June 2013
Hahahaha valid point drew. I'm also too nice to go around snapping kids boards anyway, well at least not without replacing them...

I have a question that I hope someone can clarify for me, or something..

They advertise their free warranty right? So are they allowed to charge a $25 'handling fee' and $10 for grip (that was included in the original product) and get away with it easily? Isn't this deceitful advertising somehow? I mean when I see "free" I assume I won't have to pay 78% of the original price...I mean how far does it go? Can you say "free" and let the fineprint save you from charging 90%? 100%?

It's also interesting that they can pay for ads in Amercian magazines and on Slap but not pay photographers who contribute photos, though I'm not surprised.

I'd doubt they are allowed to do it. Consumer affairs are hammering people for that kind of stuff at the moment, like visa surcharging etc etc.

I missed this. Can someone link to any threads I should research before I insult someone? Thx.

RE: 24 skateboardsNew skateboard mag for July. Tell em to suck it

my observance on why people hate 24 skateboards:

- people have claimed that their board is of low quality and won't honour the refund process
- 24 skateboards have marketed their image as the 'only' legit board company in australia, hereby shitting on other truly legit aussie companies
- some of the team riders and managers have talked shit and alienated other skaters within the community

Who are they?
And I am not hating. It's a serious question.
Ddrew4 June 2013
"not hating" me neither...

they are a company i think from qld or nsw (me being in vic has never seen a board of theirs) sell cheap and direct because shops wont stock them or something.. seems to be a big hit with the kids, not so much your affected shop owners/industry types..

I think their slogan "the only legit aussie skate company" perhaps put some noses out of joint

If they undercut our industry by 50% ... Good luck selling boards in the USA at $25.
Kkrang4 June 2013
pretty sure the "company" is from sydneys western suburbs.

the slogan was something along the lines of " "the only legit aussie skate company since 2004"

they arent to be confused with actual legit aussie company "4 skateboards" or the company dill and ave rode for before aws "23 skateboards".
SSix Pack4 June 2013
That's stuffed, what cocky arseholes. Do they even have any riders?
TTim B.4 June 2013
But are they more legit than Roo wheels? Which if i remember correctly are at least if not more legit than Picture? Hahahha
Ccatdawg4 June 2013
I still don't understand how they have such a legit team either
--T.L.F-4 June 2013
why such fury over a slogan and price ?
Wwalker944 June 2013
@TLF -

- deceitful advertising ('free' warranty is far from free)
- undercutting the industry by about 50%
- not stocking in shops due to undercutting, this hurts shops. shops support skateboarding. 24 does not.
- slogan is again total advertising fraud (besides the obvious 'legit' statement, they have not been around since 2004. more like 2011.)

While you can write all this off as "just doing business", it just sucks that they're being kept around when skateboarders don't want them around. Not to mention their beef with a few aussie distros...team riders getting bad reputations, etc. Their team are all rad dudes it just sucks that they are not. Whatever. They wont last much longer...I hope.
Ssk8parx troll4 June 2013
walker94 don't you take photos of 24 skateboard's team riders eh?

u gettin paid good? lolz.
--T.L.F-4 June 2013
how exactly are they undercutting shops by selling products at wholesale prices??
i am not qualified to talk about advertising fraud
and not supporting skateboarders?? dont they have a team and sponsor events
i seen a 24 clip the other day the skating was real good in it
