I think its a rich kid type scenario , from what i have heard , obviously they dont give a shit about anything to do with the AUS skateboard industry ,

I wonder if they will change the USA slogan to say something about the USA industry ,, hahah

EIther way money seems to talk all over the world , hopefully it runs out soon enough for them ..

no one will elaborate ?? the warranty is free the shipping and handling is not , easy enough to understand . 4128 have you got any of your riders international coverage in print mags yet??? dont just fling shit because you dont like the band

- Selling goods at wholesale prices hurts shops because people choose to buy the cheaper wholesale goods rather than buy from shops. Like I said, you can call this "doing business" if you want - that's fine. I just don't like it at all, and it's a sure sign that they do not intend to support skate shops. Obviously you can disagree with this, but I'm just "elaborating".

- I'm well aware of the fineprint that appears to "cover their arse". I've elaborated on this earlier in the thread - how far can fineprint go to save you? When the product & handling fee originally cost $45, there appears to be a problem when the handling fee alone costs $25. Sure, it may be totally legal, and quite frankly I have no idea about the laws surrounding it. But the "free" advertisement is clearly a ploy to gain customers who would otherwise not buy the product, because no other skate company offers such a deal. Find me one kid or parent who is stoked to find out that their "free" board and grip is costing them $35, with a whopping saving of $10. Sure, you can call this "doing business", but I do not agree with deceitful bullshit from any company especially in the Aussie skateboarding industry. This is one more reason why I wouldn't personally support them.

- I hope that 4128 stab was a joke. Benny Fairfax, Chewy Cannon, Tommy Fynn, Dennis Durrant and Cale Nuske...ever heard of them? To say that 24 are doing better things than 4128 is something I and most others would not agree with, but you are entitled to that opinion.
Wwalker944 June 2013
@sk8parx troll - Yeah, I know some of the team riders, this has nothing to do with them though. I don't take photos for the company in any way.

it hardly hurts shops that never intended to stock 24 boards . and its hardly deceitful if all the information is available on the advertised free warranty , free warranty is advertised everywhere most electronic appliance stores use a 3rd party warranty service which is far harder too claim any faults with, and is far more deceitful but common practice . and selling their product independently at their chosen price is not undercutting and it is not poor or ruthless business practice . and where does this 50% undercutting figure come from? the slogan is ridiculous the graphics are poorly done . they have obviously had some sort of bad experience with australian skate shops so they sell them online and this internet thing is the wave of the future. i don't like this company nor do i think it will be a sustainable one unless they make change . but they found an obvious niche in the market which "core" skate stores failed to see and are exploiting it and seem to be having at least some sort of success . don't get shitty because they are smarter .

22:34 04/Jun/13 it hardly hurts shops that never intended to stock 24 boards

Shops are always hurting and will now have even less board sales thanks to this shitty company.
--T.L.F-4 June 2013
have you ever owned a pair of nike converse adidas puma or new balance skate shoes? because they undercut "core" skate shoes brands . and why couldn't have that been a picture wheels ad in the skateboarder mag or the slap site. I am not a 100% sure if picture have advertised in any international publications be it online or print but that is one thing 24 is doing better than picture. and whats the difference between the guys at picture wheels seeing a market place devoid of a skateboard wheel company and trying to exploit and 24 seeing a market without a company marketing to kids at cheaper prices seems like a no brainer to me . are you going to get shitty at steady bumpen for selling their boards cheaper and for the large part only available online.

16:03 04/Jun/13 "not hating" me neither...

they are a company i think from qld or nsw (me being in vic has never seen a board of theirs) sell cheap and direct because shops wont stock them or something.. seems to be a big hit with the kids, not so much your affected shop owners/industry types..

I think their slogan "the only legit aussie skate company" perhaps put some noses out of joint

apparently the shops had the opportunity to stock them and didn't, so they found an alternative , and it is not really a secret that skate shops are not that profitable a business . my thimble business went belly up in a week and i was not on the bonita bobbin forum whinging to thoose cunts
Aatheosx4 June 2013
this is all seems... random as
Wwalker944 June 2013
Dude, I'm just giving you my reasons for not supporting the company, like you asked me to. 4128 spend their money on things that benefit skateboarding and skateboarders, rather than trying to make money from advertising in big time seppo magazines. The guy that runs 24 idolizes Richard Branson and aspires to become a wealthy entrepreneur. Ben O'Neil supports Australian skateboarding websites, shops, competitions and other skate programs. Money is spent on this. I'm willing to support Aussie companies who do this rather than all the aforementioned stuff 24 do. End of story.
--T.L.F-4 June 2013
by advertising their riders internationally and sponsoring them isnt he supporting them also ?? picture wheels is great i was just pointing out that although the company(24) isn't perfect they do do some things well . instead of giving a high five to bibi bradbury or who ever is featured in the 24 ad in skateboarder mag cints just fling shit. he also just created a lot more web traffic on his site by advertising on slap further exposing his riders . the beef between 24 and local skateshops is between them and shouldnt be brought up here in such a juvenile way . dont diminish what should be a big achievement for the riders of 24 by posting a picture of yourself giving the ad the finger . if you didnt want to get involved with this sort of stuff dont open a fucking business .
--T.L.F-4 June 2013
order in some boards from china http://www.challengeskateboard.com/ is a good place to look slap you shop sticker on them and sell them for 40 bucks . problem solved
Ccomic book guy4 June 2013
You're a fucking retard T.L.F, please never have children.
--T.L.F-4 June 2013
why am i retarded ? because i am aware of how business operates and how businesses try to make profit?? if your business is so deeply affected by what 24. skateboards well you havent much hope. so far the only bad thing about this company is the slogan and poor art direction . i think a lot of peoples opinions would change if they removed the slogan and had better art direction
Kkrim4 June 2013
Hmmm. For starters claiming you're the only legit aussie board company is fucking stupid and deserves to get some hate. And putting "since 2004" isn't a loop hole to claim it. It's dumb and not right. Other than that and them selling their products direct to customers and under cutting the whole industry to make a quick buck, I don't really have a problem with them.
Iimgne_4 June 2013
I am more than guilty of "hating" on 24 skateboards and as much as I could easily re-write yet another rant about how much 24 blows, most of it has already been said in this thread. But I will say this... If at anytime a kid walk's into my shop and the topic of 24 skateboards comes up, instead of simply replying "nah they suck and only posers ride their boards" I've found that simply educating them on both the pro's & con's of purchasing one of their products, as opposed to purchasing something from a skate shop, is really the only thing you can do.
If the start purchasing from a skate shop, that awesome, but if they continue to purchase 24/CCS/SW than they're a kook, but its their decision and realistically you can't stop them from doing it.
Ddrew5 June 2013
"if they continue to purchase 24/CCS/SW than they're a kook"

I got to disagree with you here mate. Some people just need/want to get the best deal possible. Dosn't mean they're a kook. Rather than put down the guys that dont/cant, just appreciate the ones that do support the 'skateshop scene' when they can.
Cchoppa5 June 2013
in short, 24 Skatebaords are the least legit Australian Company and should fuck their own bumholes with samurai swords dipped in tabasco
Iimgne_5 June 2013
"I got to disagree with you here mate. Some people just need/want to get the best deal possible. Dosn't mean they're a kook. Rather than put down the guys that dont/cant, just appreciate the ones that do support the 'skateshop scene' when they can."

Cheers for pointing that out drew, as again its another valid point. I can understand/relate to those wanting to get the better deal and I hold nothing against them, I'm genuinely a nice person who still has a lot to learn about what goes on within this industry and life in general. But I have had a few people go out of their way to inform me that the skateshops are the bad guys for charging so much and that online is the way of the future, so to me those guys are the "kooks", but I also consider myself to be a bit of a kook and quite honestly, who here hasn't been a kook at some point?
The main thing I'm now trying to focus on is just pointing out what I first said, educating the pro's & con's of shopping online as opposed to purchasing from your local and what you said with appreciating those who do support our local industry/scene.
Kkrim5 June 2013
Call me a kook but if you have a local and still choose to buy from the online sites you guys mentioned you're a jerk.

If you live in Dicksville NSW and your only shop is Bazza's surf, skate n wake then buy your dildo's from skateboard.com.au. Duh.

I have a problem with the warranty. Like skateboards fall apart with use who is to say what is a broken skateboard or not, am I supposed to keep all the peices of my board and then when i think its finally too shit to ride or its snapped i send them a stuffed board and a bag of tan ply? What happens when I try and gap the wood chipper for the friendly tradies? or a more realistic thing happens like when some kid trys to ollie a set and the board flys out and gets tail mashed hard and this dude dosnt know that happens and his dad trys to send it back. All it says is that its up to 24 if they want to replace the board or not so they could fuck people hard, 24 needs to make it more clear what is replaceable.
CCheets5 June 2013
Who knows where the industry is headed haha
Let's all get together and buy Plan B and Element, who's in?
Ssk8parx troll5 June 2013
