Dookie,I agree when it was said your arnt as clever as you think you are..I could imagine you would be the type who could never understand another persons point of view on a topic which you don't fully understand. Shanes death should bring us all closer,not bring upon negatives. Ali knew no better in the situation he was in..quit the hate it brings no good!

Bullshit, Braddox. I've never said anything particularly controversial. In fact, the most controversial point I've made 'anonymously' was that an Element ad appeared stupid. Big deal. And I had an argument with Sparx. Well, now we're friends and sometimes skate together when I'm in Sydney.

So quit your dumb internet vendetta against me, a fellow skater.

I admit that at the time of Shanes death, I was really pissed off at Ali for drinking and riding. I was in a rage about it because I'd lost friends in drink dirivng accidents, and being hit by a drunk dirver. I also knew that letting this be known on here would just enrage people, so I bit my lip and kept my anger to myself.

All I can hope now is that Ali is going to be ok. I can't imagine the emotional nightmares he has had to struggle through. I just hope that his friends stick by him and support him in any way they can. Friendship and understanding is the only thing that will carry him through tough times.

I'm quite sure that ali is a stronger person for this, and frankly.. i doubt he gives a flying fuck as to the opinions of people who either A. dont know him, B. dont really know what actually happened C. didnt give a fuck about whilst he was in prison or D. DIDNT KNOW SHANE!

Again i hope he is a stronger person, an that he does moves on and it would be great to see him possibly make a comback...

if he does choose skating, i think he may stay well away from alcohol/drugs and focus entirely on it.

The way i think about it is. Many of you would have drunk drove, many of your friends would and you may think, 'oh thats pretty stupid' or you may not give a fuck and if your mate was like yeah 'me and my mate were wasted on a motorbike in the city the other night riding a motorbike with no helmets' you would probably say your a silly cunt but you probably wouldnt care to much, wouldnt think of the risks and most likely wouldnt have suggested that he shouldve thought about the friend and if court for doing it they would have been fined, lost there licence.
Im not for a second saying this was inoccent but it was a very unfortunate accident under the circumstances and no one set out or forsore the outcome including Ali.
i think sympathys should go to both of them and both of there familys.
Surely if Shanes parents and family can see it this way, so can you...

theres actually a few people who have similar opinions to my own i imagine but dont wanna voice it because they dont wanna deal with the arguing afterwards..

in the interests of complete disclosure here, your primary gripe that it was an incident that occurred while intoxicated doesn't have anything to do with your being straight edge does it?

if it does - it seems to me, your tenuous argument is a thinly veiled attempt to let everyone know that you're better than those involved because you would never make such a poor choice. (ie, drinking and driving)

if it doesn't - why would you constantly remind people here of things they already know about this most difficult situation? do you get thrills out of knowing you're upsetting people who have been personally affected by these events.

the accident and shane's unfortunate death are in the past and now thankfully for ali so is his time in jail.
we should all be happy we are still here and able to enjoy the things shane loved so much. our friends, our families, skateboarding and good times.

i know ali could give less of a shit what is being said about him on here but i also know shane wouldn't want anyone cursing ali's name just because of what happened. that wasn't his style.

Not really anything to do on the whole edge thing, to me its common sense, ur drinking u have less self control, dont drive a car or ride a moto etc. I do think however Being a non drinker and so on i do notice bad things often caused by alcohol and that people dont see the dangers amd so on, look at the bwginning of the converse vid.
