Ron Swanson1 Oct 2009I read that years ago. It's shit and Hunter Thompson is a dick. Read Sonny Barger's biography, it's much better.

I'm reading Breath by Tim Winton at the moment. I'm only around 90 pages in (300 page book) and it hasn't really had anything too dramatic happen yet, but I think something will.

i found it in a bargain bin in alice springs... knew the name as the author is quoted in 'zeitgeist - the movie'... great insight into CIA and america's dodgy foreign policy... hence why iran and iraq are the way the are.
Has anyone read any of the necroscope books ? Worth reading ?

Pazlo_Lanaflex7 Oct 2009I started Irvine Walsh's "Crime" yesterday.
Its about a Scottish cop embroiled in a pedo ring. Fairly chilling stuff to be honest. Plus he writes with an accent
"Ahhh yae kin do thart to tha wee bairn!!!" is an example of his dialogue. Makes reading it quite hard and sometimes embarassing on the bus when you need to almost say the sentance aloud to understand it.
I just finished "The Last Chinese Chef" by Nicole Mones. Probably more of a girls book in many ways, but it constantly talked about food, so I couldn't put it down except for when I needed to venture to the pantry for more snacks.

Back in to Alistair Reynolds for me. Reading 'The Prefect' and it is just as good as all his oher amazing books. I also have 'The Fabric of the Cosmos' by Brian Greene. It's kind of a Quantam Physics for Dummies thing.
Reading silverthorn at the moment. About 100 pages through and loving it.

I'm reading at the moment The Culture Club by
Craig Schuftan, its about 20th century art and the links to rock n roll. "connects the dots and goes beyond the standard histories of Rock and Roll and the people who make it to reveal modern music's hidden roots in Modern Art." Very interesting, there is no really major linking point or message that i can tell.
just read the wolf on wall street, not too bad, gonna start maos last dancer soon
