Hey Addo, passed it on to a friend and I think they passed it on to someone else, so it's been well loved.

Stoked on the return of this thread. Still have to read World War Z, might grab that for myself tomorrow when I hit Dymocks for a Mothers Day gift.

Payday today! Going to start my Easton Ellis collection. Anyone else read his books and rate them?

Bret Easton Ellis is heaps good. Rules of Attraction is my favorite, the movie is also good, Shannyn Sossamon is one piece of ayshe.

my mum's neighbour wrote this book called shadows of war:on the brisbane line
just some history and stuff, i paste a synopsis i got off the web

Recollections of a young boy growing up in a Queensland bush community during the most turbulent time in Australia’s history. The stories are from a world that is almost unrecognisable to the one we live in today, about a community that no longer exists. My immediate family want to remember ‘Grandad’s stories’, and I hope the wider audience will enjoy either renewing their acquaintance with the world of their childhood, or learning about the world of parents and grandparents.

it sounds interesting, i like this sort of thing. i have not started reading it but ill let you all know how it goes

I finished "Less than zero" by Ellis over the weekend, it was weird but interesting and so easy to get through. I'm currently reading this book called "Guilt" by Ferdinand von schirach, he is an old criminal defence lawyer and the book is just full of all these fucked up cases he had to defend and it shows how he felt he has sold his soul defending these kinds of people. It wigs me out 'cause i'm studying crim law right now
HHank.24 May 2012
oh i also downloaded the Less than Zero movie... it's fucking shit! pretty much ruined the book, so i advise you all not to watch it

What do a lawyer and a sperm have in common?

They both have a 1 in 10 million chance of becoming a human being.

Read a book called Metro by a Brisbane author called Alasdair Duncan, it feels to me that he just tried writing an Australian version of Less Than Zero. Wasn't a bad book though.

Just got 2 books for the winter break from bookdepository

Obama's Wars - Bob Woodward
Manhunt - Peter Bergen

Anyone ever got around to reading Dale Carnegie How to Win Friends?? Im usually sceptical on self-help books but there is fair bit of hype around this one.

Has anyone read "Fever Dream" by GRR Martin? Thinking I might give it a whirl today.

World War Z was excellent, easy to see why it was recommended so highly here for so long.
