Don't know if I have read the other books though.
I remember vowing to never read Wilbur Smith after he mentions a hero in his book stabbing a dolphin in it's gills.
Stupid fucking Rhodesian.

P
Pazlo_Lanaflex3 July 2009As someone with a science degree I get mighty annoyed when someone gets the facts wrong.
Also spelling mistakes in books make me angry.
F
Furtanken3 July 2009Dolphin gills.
Fish lungs.
Bear lasers.
"stabbing a dolphin in it's gills."
Hopefully he scaled it after he killed it.
P
Pazlo_Lanaflex3 July 2009Yeah! And removed the poisonous barbs from it's hind legs before cooking it.
WWhite Russian3 July 2009Came back to show you i could fly
More recommendations for your fantasy shelf Lazlo - Fritz Leiber's stories about Fafrhd and The Grey Mouser. Classic fantasy stuff, in fact this along with Lord of the Rings set the tone for a squillion fantasy novels thereafter. The main characters are anti-heroes we would all love - they fight, steal, get pissed and shag women. Oh, and get around to the odd adventure too. Two glowing thumbs up! Fucken.
Fuck yeah
From Wiki:
"Fritz Reuter Leiber Jr. (December 24, 1910 – September 5, 1992) was an American writer of fantasy, horror and science fiction. He was also an expert chess player and a champion fencer."
Yes Sir I have beaten you in chess and I will now stab you in the throat.
A
Addo4 July 2009just finished ken kesey's "one flew over the cuckoo nest"
pretty stoked on it.. the end happened too quick and kinda was dissapointing though. still recommend.
now russ just waitin for your book to arrive.
Addo - you should read Kesey's 'The Electric Kool Aid Acid Test' to see where he got his inspiration from. Primarily hippies and a metric fuckload of LSD.
A
Addo5 July 2009yeah in hunter s' "hell's angels" he talks about how the angels all use to go out to kesey's house and that kesey introduced them to a ton of new drugs
A
Addo6 July 2009russ you're legend... my book just arrived and well and truely stoked on your choice.
