gibsons suck
DDeathMoth11 Feb 2009
gibsons suck... for those who can't afford one. i saved my pennys for gibson and haven't been disappointed. considering that you're chasing an Iceman you probably aren't that cluey when it comes to choosing a quality sounding/feeling guitar

im glad this thread is doing so well.
i wish i had the time to be on it more..
i got suspended for 5 days and the rents took my guitar off me.
it made me realise, as shit as mt guitar is, how much i need that fucking thing!
DDeathMoth11 Feb 2009
broke my little finger once i couldn't play for a while. it was pretty shit house, i know what your talkin about

I tried a few les pauls back in the day. The main two - is it the custom, and the studio or something? I didn't like 'em. The necks didn't feel that great - a couple i tried, you'd have to scrape through the wood grain just to do a bend. And I guess the necks were a bit small/thin.
The epi felt heaps better in my hands. Although them pickups...they went microphonic after about a month. But yeah I've always gone by the theory that if a guitar doesn't feel good unplugged, plugging it in won't make it feel any better, so I always try them unplugged.

LOL when I fucked my hand I just wacked it in dropped G and got my beer bottle slide on

having surfed all my life i also use a surfers' forum and one thing that irritates the hell out of me is the fetishism! those surfers will just go on and on and on about their bloody surfboards.
MMr Fox12 Feb 2009
LOL Al you'd think there'd be better places for it than a surferss's's forum eh
AAl the Spazz12 Feb 2009
as it happens just the other day i found myself in a discussion about surfboards with a norwegian neuropyschologist who had tried surfing five or six times on hired longboards at non nuoc beach in central vietnam and already had his heart set on a five-finned bonzer bumblebee by a central californian shaper whose name sort of rang a bell for me unlike the name 'bonzer bumblebee' which i heard for the very first time when this norwegian fellow uttered it so when he asked for my opinion on the model i could only shuffle my feet and scratch my head and mumble something like oh it's alright!

HAHAHA ibanez iceman HAHAH

geezus gerald, you crack me up

i know im pretty funny aye

gibsons are well to overpriced i dont know why you would was thousands on them when you can get a decent epi for like half the price.
DDeathMoth12 Feb 2009
gibsons are "overpriced" because they have a long time reputation of being quality guitars. while the quality recently has been slipping they're basically your go-to guitars for several of your classic rock sounds. the epiphones don't feel the same and most of the time have cheaper and shittier components
Ggerald12 Feb 2009
id rather waste a grand on an esp or jackson
JJejenhausen12 Feb 2009
i have a greg bennet torino plus amp n chords n all that shit that im willing to sell as a package for like 350 bucks if anyone here is interested
DDeathMoth12 Feb 2009
a $1000 esp is garaunteed to be pretty shit dude. you talkin about those LTD's?? you gotta fork out with the ESP's just the same as you do with a gibson
Ggerald12 Feb 2009
naaa not the limitds my firend has one and its of poor quality i have a jackson so id rather a jackson over esp any day cause ive been playing my jackson for ages and im just used to it.but tryin to save up for a Ibanez PGM301
SS L E E P12 Feb 2009
Your fucking tripping balls gerald.

Gibsons are worth every fucking cent, I own a les paul custom ebony, and have owned a les paul classic and an sg standard. And they are by far the best guitars in the world.
ESP and jackson are great, but if you want to get a good one, your going to have to drop over 2k on an esp eclipse, which basically is a les paul rip off with emgs in it.
Ggerald12 Feb 2009
yea im not much of a money earner thats the problem. it really depends what you wanna play i rekon i play alot of metalcore and metal and i just dont like the feel of les pauls.
DDonut12 Feb 2009
gerald you are just like every other hardcore metal guitarist

everyone young hardcore kid these days wants either a jackson ibanez or bc rich with a boss metal zone pedal

listen deathmoth sleep and fox they know there shit when it comes to guitars

i have played metal for about 3 years now and im starting to get bored with it a bit

so ive been whipping out the old acoustic

i am now on the search for a new acoustic guitar

i would love a matton but they are fairly expensive

does anyone have any suggestions
DDonut12 Feb 2009
maton*
MmegamanX12 Feb 2009
i have a tanglewood jhono.

it s a really nice guitar, go down to your local shop and try one out.
AAl the Spazz12 Feb 2009
john martyn died last month. may i suggest you whack on 'solid air' and hum and strum along on your old acoustic a bit.
MMr Fox12 Feb 2009
Yeah gotta watch out for those young hardcore kids who think they know everything eh Johno Mate hahaha
DDeathMoth13 Feb 2009
now now fox!!

johno is right about esp, jackson etc being big with metalcore kids, but those brands have been big with metal cunts forever, thats why i own a sick ass ibanez RG750 from 1989, deep in the heart of glam days.
MMr Fox13 Feb 2009
haha yeah I was just having a dig at Johno.
haha yeah I had an Ibanez way back when...not sure if it was one of the RG series or not, but yeah with the metal fleck paint job and floaty bar and all hahaha
Had a few other guitars along the way..but yeah some kind soul relieved me of them and a bunch of other stuff a few years back...the cunt. (Part of why I'm getting more and more fussy about who I have as a flatmate...)
And now I'm playing a Jackson hahaha
But yeah I'm not too fussy anyway, I mean I barely even touch the knobs on my amp hahaha just fiddle the tone knob on the turbo od hahaha
