yea but where is it?
really shutdown? i see your point but i don't use any modelling software i mean processing. all valve and maxon tubescreamer 8 reissue. the sg generally lacks a little bit of balls but has a kind of punchy sound. the eq curve and the extra gain of the invader seems to fit nicely with this style of guitar. if i was after a vintage sound it would not be my choice of pickup though

hahahahaha what the fuck? camperdowns not a dodge area, and it's not like you'd be going at 2am anyway.

I've seen a couple of line 6 spiders on ebay for like 220, I've heard better things from the Roland Cube.
does anyone know where i can get an ibanez ICT700. its this one
yeh deathmoth, i hears ya on the sg needing more grunt.. I just find that in a les paul, the invader kind of crunches out a little hard almost as if its an active pickup and the modelling racks I use for recording (www.myspace.com/embolicshift) shit themselves with it. Those recordings are using a dodge ibanez 7 string fixie with stock everything and it sounds so much better than my invaded les...
But having said that, for live use, with under-grunted valve amps, the invader would probably add a nice amount of pseudo gain... I guess thats why old mate who owned it before me put it in...

yeh i've been playing with it a bit to fully sus it out this week. for metal its great in the SG. very happy with it. some people said it was crap for soloing but it seems to go pretty good. i also found that it sounded really good playing slighty dirty blues lick. clean amp with my od808 giving a little gain and it sounded really fuckin good.
i think its main down fall is the ability to cleanly ring out distorted chords, and based on that music you make, it probably wouldn't suit your stuff. so for the moment i'm happy with it cos i'm playing a lot of metal. its pretty prime for that. but if i ever need to hook back into the straight out rock n roll i'll probably go with, like you said, a vintage or something

aint nothing better than rocking out blues on a les paul haha
hey im lookin at gettin some new pedals for a new sound and i was thinkin about a tremolo pedal, but i was wondering are they really worth it?
if you're looking for the sound a trem pedal gives you then yes its worth it. if you're not sure what pedal will give you the sound you're after go plug into some at the shop and try them.
if you don't really know what sound you're after i don't really know what to say

Oh PIG if only you got the gibson, i got sold an SG ep from a mate who was buyin a SG gibson and oh my lord, i played his gibson and it was the most beautiful feeling
I wouldn't bother with a temolo pedal Dave. I've had one for probably 15 years and I can't remember ever actually using it. I only bought it cause back in those days you could get Boss pedals for like 10-15 buck from the local pawn shop.
