Ripper, thanks Danyae
Ddanyae30 June 2012
he said he wont have the cash for about a month saul so if you still have it then he will be keen.
Anyone got any advice on pedal power supplys? Im looking at the voodoo lab or dunlop brick is there any cheaper options that are good? And if I buy from us is it sweet to just use a wall adapter or is their power not 240v would that cause problems?.
Voodoo lab from states is about 160 vs 450 here. And a pedal board? been looking at the pedaltrain ones seems expensive for a little piece of ally. I might just weld my own up at work and make money wile im doing it rather then loosing it.

Turns out the American models aren't suitable for aus as the voltage is different. Sucks as they all cost 4 times the amount here. That skb one would be ideal but $500 vs $160 us. Just going to get the Dunlop dc brick for $200 and build my own board il post a pic when I'm done. Also anyone bought shit from musicians friend before?

fuck yeah on that strat danyae!

and fuck yeah fetus! i assume you mean E an octave below standard?
DDeathMoth3 July 2012
11's are great for standard tuning. nice big, tight sounds
FFetus3 July 2012
yeh just standard E... it's pretty hard to play with fat strings that tight but I tested the differences between a bunch of guitars and you can tell the difference for sure. I guess I'll get used to it eventually!

I'll let you guys know when we have songs available. We've already spent 4 days at studio 301 in Sydney, the sound and overall experience was amazing
DDeathMoth3 July 2012
jazz guys often play heavier gauges than 11's. you don't wanna be out toughed by jazz guys do you? harden up sonny, 11's are nothing
FFetus3 July 2012
good point, all complaining will now cease

Does anyone have some suggestions for a decent amp just to muck around on at home? Probably around the $300 price range. I've been looking at the Vox Valvetronics + range, i don't have any pedals yet so i want something with a few presets
Ddanyae10 July 2012
Just buy a descent valve amp to begin with you will save money in the long run. Ive heard the little blackstar model is really good cant remember the exact model its a 5 or 10 watt combo. Volume bass middle treble may of even had a master and reverb. Since its only 5 watt or so you can just crank it to get some crunch without blowing your windows out.

that strat is real nice danyae. all white guitars are pretty shmick
Ddanyae15 July 2012
some improv fkn around with garage band cunts should start posting more guitar forums are all quite lame.
deathmoth you have a blues deluxe yeh? Any good? Ive started jamming with some lads and cant really hear my guitar over the drums and deff cant get a clean tone so need something a bit bigger. I heard the drive chanel on them was shit? That wouldn't bother me so much I was just gonna buy the reissue bassman once again im limited because there is no where here to try them out.

hahaha are those fender knobs on that tele or are they just different for the blacktop series?

danyae i was looking at those blues deluxe's recently aswell, pretty tasty amp in my opinion but i was discussing amps with one of my lecturers and he reckons the peavey classic series sound a lot better than the fenders and cheaper aswell. haven't had the opportunity to have a go on one myself but just something you might wanna check out too.
DDeathMoth16 July 2012
peavey classic 30s are cool little amps. but i wound up going with the blues deluxe reissue tweed. much of a muchness though, pretty similar in quality. they each have their flaws. you can improve each with a simple speaker change.
Ddanyae30 July 2012
Hey Saul you still got that telle ? My mate is keen to buy it if so
Sshutdown30 July 2012
"peavey classic 30s are cool little amps"

word, they sound even more amazing when you speaker out to a nice quaddie and run it on 10.
DDeathMoth31 July 2012
sick dude. that's a blues deluxe reissue right?

i never put mine on its dirty channel. but i put a Maxon OD808 before it with pretty much no gain. it allows you to get a little bit of grit into your clean tone while still keeping the clarity of the clean channel.

very responsive to dynamics and the built in reverb is actually ok too.
GGinger Beer31 July 2012
fuck yeah, nice choice. I agree with deathmoth, i'm not a fan of fender amp overdrives, but if you whack a blues driver, tube screamer, or something like an OCD, you can get the sweetest overdriven tones. Fender amps have one of the best clean tones for the money i reckon. How much did you get it for danyae?
Ddanyae1 Aug 2012
yeh mate ri deluxe. yeh the dirty channel is pretty trash il just be using clean with od like you guys said. I paid $1100 for it ginger could of got it cheaper if I was in the city but kept it local just had to wait for them to order it in.
Ddavid johntston1 Aug 2012
Hey danyae that new strat looks fucking amazing!
GGinger Beer1 Aug 2012
Wow man, your uncle is a shredder. Nice. Not really guitar related, but here's a video of a mate and I covering the new tame impala single.
