Yeah right the whole s1 thing seems like a bit of a gimmick to me I wouldn't mind just changing it out to standard to be honest. Either way still stoked on the axe cant put it down.
bought an mxr supercomp today too... impulse buy went to get strings and it was half price pretty happy with it though.
DDeathMoth11 Apr 2012
don't be afraid of the s1. good to have some versatility. i've not looked at which wiring configs it engages on a Tele, i've only seen what it does on a strat, and it's cool.

maybe there is some crazy ass wiring configs you can do that you can engage by the s1 knob, i'd definitely get one on mine if i could be assed.
Ddanyae11 Apr 2012
Its same deal as on a strat. Im down for keeping it simple I havent played around with to much but only notice pretty minor differences with it.
What pups did you put in yours?
Ddanyae12 Apr 2012
dloaded this thing called transcribe today you can slow shit down with out altering the pitch. Pretty sick been figuren out t bone licks all day
Ddavid johntston12 Apr 2012
fuck yeah that tele looks lovely
DDeathMoth12 Apr 2012
yeh you won't notice as much difference in the sounds activated with the s1 on a tele because you only have three switching options anyway (in tradition tele 3 way switch wiring). the subtlety between the sounds is a good thing. huge sonic leaps between settings sound a bit whack. you'll find specific settings are heaps handy for particular styles. have a squiz on youtube for someone demoing s1 on a tele and see if there are any which stipulate examples of what each setting excels in and it might open up some ideas for you.

i got Joe Barden T-Styles in mine. noiseless, dual blade singles. super hot but still very tele-like.

any into music editing? my mate bought an interface that came with pro tools but i dunno if i should try and download something like ableton instead of buying an interface relying on the software that it comes with....
Ppandapanda15 Apr 2012
are you talking about those m-box's? pro tools is the industry standard man and is a lot more suited to studio engineering than ableton, that being said though you will probably find using ableton a lot easier
DDeathMoth16 Apr 2012
ProTools is "industry standard" but there's a shit tonne of successful studios not running Tools. they all do the same shit basically. it's your ears that do the mix.

why you selling your boss super overdrive????

Pretty much everyone needs one of those in their kit, either that or an ibanez tube screamer, the only two pedals out there that can add grunt to a tube amp without fucking the sound up.
Ddavid johntston19 May 2012
Ts808 all the way
Sshutdown19 May 2012
ya the O.G. 808 is goodz but the bowse super overdrive is on par.. Zack Wylde was one of the first to realise its merits when combined with the warm sounding but slightly under-grunted jcm800. Never forget the shame I felt when I got my first marshall stack, jcm900 with laney quad, saved most my life to buy it, took it round to my mates house who had the 800 stack with boss super overdrive pedal, and when playing them back to back he pretty much laughed at how shit the 900 sounded and I packed up my shame and went home...

Needless to say, i sold it to some bogan metalhead from maitland by demoing it with a metalzone pedal throght the clean channel and bought an 800 myself soon after.

I wanted to get the full tone ocd. Boss od works good but have to turn amp up to much to get the tone im after for a few Hendrix songs I've been learning and it's too loud for by bedroom even though my amp is 5 watts feels like its blowing my head off. Then I discovered amp has a half power switch so I've been using that which doesn't sound as good as full power but then I remind myself im just Fucking around in my bedroom. I've got a fuzz face in there now to which is good. 90% of the time I just fuck around over 12 bar jam track things and don't use any effects so I thought it was a waste of time owning them. I don't know anybody who plays guitar so they were kinda hard to sell.

still selling my Line 6 M13. $400. http://line6.com/m13/

seriously, excellent sounding delays, mods and verbs, simple to use, plenty of advanced routing and switching options. No lame amp sims like a Pod, just the stompbox models that are found in the smaller Line 6 stomp box modellers (the green delay DL4 etc).

$400 could get you maybe two shit sounding stomp boxes, or this. It's a fuckin bargain, and i need the cash, so some cunt just buy it for fucks sake

some footage of Thrice who've used these on guitar and bass over their last few albums and on tour.

are you still selling that rat?
DDeathMoth20 May 2012
Negative. Simplifying my rig after leaving my band and the RAT is central to my simplified rig ;)

$400 for the M13 though, and it actually has a quite reasonable model of the RAT included ;)

Lots of winking going down
Ddavid johntston20 May 2012
