When trying a trick, only think of the trick, not what's for dinner or that chick over there..

When you fall down, get up quick and walk it off, laying down only hurts longer..

When you injure yourself, give yourself time to heal, but don't favour your injury once you start skating again..

Don't skate half arsed, either do it or don't, half arsed skating causes injuries

the land or slam philosophy really works when trying to commit..

And then there is the hippy one... Have fun... But that not very practical...

great thread....

If you want to do well in comps make sure you wear clothing that is in fashion and popular

Make fun of other kids at the skatepark before someone makes fun of you.

If you want to become successful, concentrate on a crazy reckless drug and alcohol fueled lifestyle image, the skateboarding is secondary.

Shouting at your board not only makes you feel better, it teached the board a valuable lesson.

Bugger Vande...

On the cynical note...

If you can only land the trick of the month and nothing else, then get sponno'd asap, cause it only takes one trick to get someone sucking yo dick!

Haters are only jealous & bitter...

taught me to be a better person by offering advice to people on tricks they didn't land. turn your shoulders and keep your hips straight, but lean forward at the same time and limp your wrists more

Biters are only jealous of haters

home made skate clothing/deck/font companies are a guaranteed path to fame and riches

skate companies always have the absolute best interests in mind of their sponsored riders. Always ensuring their teams are remunerated well, have the best health insurance and keep them on an educational pathway so their riders have good options if when their careers are over.

you can have the best style, the best bag of tricks and the balls to go for the biggest hammers, but you go and kiss one guy one the doodle...

it's ok to wear women's clothing

you must mock those who can't precisely identify all of eric kostons es pro models

the correct term for a female skateboarder is 'lesbian'

Dont hang around the toilets unless you want to be propsitioned by middle aged men.

wait. you skate?
PPervert Olympics10 Mar 2010
If you can't skate good, start filming your friends. Get a part time job so you can buy expensive equipment which will help you ditch your old friends and buddy up with some sponsored skaters who won't really like you but let you film, drive them around and borrow money.

If you call yourself an artist, then you are an artist.

Just because someone works in the skate industry, doesn't mean they know or have anything to do with skateboarding.

Don't worry about history or tradition, just make it up.

Never use kickers in your interview

...Talking about skateboarding is fucking boring.

...One day, I will guarantee you, you will have to get a job and grow up.

...Your parents were right, when you are 30 your knees, ankles and wrists will be fucked... and it's not as cool as it sounds.

...There are way too many pro's. How can that many people be on the highest level of skateboaring? Skateboarding should be like Karate, once you hit Pro (Black Belt) you should vbe further catagorised (Pro level 6 brah, Gnarly!).

Ddjsm10 Mar 2010
I disagree with one, whilst I did have to get a job, growing up was never really on the cards...

And as an over 30, you can still skate, cause your fked knees and ankles only hurt when you walk.. Or run, or are not skating...
Mmonkz10 Mar 2010
...Agreed.

when you nail a trick you conquer your board. your board doesn't conquer you
