2009 taught me about the new popular culture of chickenboning, junting and so forth.

Skating has tuaght me to buy beer based on how well you can drink it warm.

I like Sparx's comment. He is good at debating maths.

Skateboarding has taught me that:

Bikers are aggressive bogans with lip rings.

Bladers are usually inbred, but quite friendly too.

Drug dealers, hoodlums and assorted thugs enjoy fucking up skateparks (Prahran, I'm especially looking at you)

And finally...the best skaters don't think about the trick. They just switch off their minds and let their body take over. That's the secret. There is a zen aspect to skateboarding.

Radical thread; skateboarding taught me....

- exercise doesn't have to be boring
- persistence pays off
- how to forget about life for awhile
- we are all superficial beings
- to travel anywhere and get looked after
- drinking at the spot is better then the bar
- balance in all things

cheesy, but sometimes you have to say 'fuck the consequences' and go for something

That there is a whole different way of looking at the world. I can't imagine looking at a handrail and not sizing up up and checking it's skatability.

And a billion other things.

Word to the zen aspect of skating raphabee. I think about shit way too much.

Skateboarding has taught me that it's ok to hate everything and anyone for no particular reason, but only through forum posts - never face to face. Even though we're all skateboarders, your opinion doesn't mean shit over mine, you're probably a fag who doesn't own a PS3, haven't got your tits out, don't film with a VX and a deathy, an alter ego or say shit thats ABD.
By the way, Bam can't skate and Sheckler loves the cock.

The communal aspect of skateboarding is amazing.

You go to a spot or skatepark anywhere in the world, skate a session, and you'll make friends. You'll find free accomodation, get tour guides, get phone numbers. Last year I skated the famous spots in France/ UK and the locals are so hospitable.

There's a real community among real skateboarders, unlike most 'team' sports where the fans prefer to bash each other (soccer, I'm looking at you)

recently skateboarding has taught me that i've definitely put on too much weight. i still feel like a young buck until i slam and i realise that 100kg dudes actually do fall harder. i need to get back into a regular skate habit and shed a few kgs

Yesterday I learned that new shoes make my flip tricks come back... And they also made my old set up feel all new again...

taught me that if its not fun there is no point doing it.
alot of people will get over skating at some point and want to do other thnigs and you are better off just letting them go do whatever than trynig to force them to come out skating all the time. even if it does result in them being a souless metro jock douchebag.
