Was totally kewel to take a break from the vert & work on sum moves on the mini complex to take up to the ramp'

hey cam, remember how packed fairfield was in the early days? there were kids EVERYWHERE on that thing, snake sessions were the only option, but if you were a kook, forget it! skating was at it's peak around early 92, wonder where all those kids are now?
elder, yep there indead was a bowl in carlton (allawah) to be exact and it was where many (myslef included) cut our teeth, nothing fab, just a rolled lipped donut bowl, kinked and lame. but it was there and we skated it. the handrail was at the cinema opening on the roof top - probably still there too... and westfield miranda is in the newer section on level three if that helps?

oh how I miss that ramp at Waterloo. It was the perfect size for progressing from mini to vert.
it was always good for practising your dispute resolution skills too -
skating it when the footy was on next door was always interesting especially towards the end of the day when the spectators were pretty tanked and gee'd up!!

frogman, requesting forgiveness - my meomory is pretty bad for dates. but i do remember many ugly encounters with the 'locals' at waterloo. i believe gav had his camera stolen once by a kid no more than 13 years of age. normally you would just grab it back and slap the kid around a bit, but in this area you don't mess with anyone! no doubt had 20 older mates just around the corner...

oi benon...i notice u have photos from around the shire. do u remember back in the early 90's there was a little wooden park set up in Sutherland. I think it was near the pool or something, or near this cycling track. it had a little funbox with a rail down it, some little quarters and kickers.
i went there when i was super young and had this KMart board with pink grip years b4 Svitak made it cool...i remember droppin in for my first time and going frontside over the hip on the funbox, it had a tranny i think and i got a tiny bit of air. i also did some grab over a kicker...i think i was about 5 or 6 ... anyone remember this place?
