ah, back in the day...
With u there Mick....Twilight Zone wierd !!!
(the other side had a Vision Street Wear logo ?....heh-heh)
yeah, not too sure what the deal with the hardcore logo was? i think bob of 'itchy feet' fame owned that ramp first, maybe that would explain it.
(something slightly off-topic, but slightly on too: what the hell is with that logo anyway? from a designers perspective (which i am training to be) a heart? a skate company? i guess it was the late 80's)
dude those trannies are so tight.
got any more pics?? u know ya do!
Some gold there fellas. Keep em coming.
man that board is clean champ! (and skillfully assembled by a young matt davis no less!!)
your scanner is getting a workout.
fuck yeh bennon. good to see you dropping hammers before i was even born
hey timmmmmmy, this is just the tip of the iceberg champ!
and 12sev, i would hardly call that b/s ollie a 'hammer'! (but thanks anyway)
keep going, these are awesome! for some reason no matter how dodgy the quality or whatever, old pics like these are so good to look through...so interesting...sick work
keep em comin benon, this is easily the best thread on the site...i bar sex for this thread
hey benon, where is that st marys ramp at? iv heard of it but never seen it. ne chance that it still exists?
and how exactly does that picture fit in with this thread? u had your 15 posts of fame for this pik in another thread, let it go man.
thanks heshteckk & DeathTrout (but i don't know about barring sex for this thread! - goodness me!)
scott-ay, st. marys is located in the western suburb of greater sydney called (surprisingly, 'st mary's') at the foothills of the blue mountains. you would need a time machine to skate the skatepark however, as it closed its doors WAY back in the early 90's (someone got a accurate date, i am thinking it must have been early '91?, mick?)
interestingly story; once in about 1996 my cousin gav stocker (who has featured in pics previously in this thread) and i were on our way up to the blue mountains for a weekend of drinking and fresh mountain air and we stopped in at the premise that used to house the st marys skatepark. the main entrance doors were exactly the same, but boarded up. we took a sneaky peak around the side and found a door that was slightly open. inside we were amazed to find ourselves in the actual squash courts where the mini ramp lived! everything was obviously gone, and a lot of the walls and glass panels had been knocked down, but there was the distinctive scuffmark on the far wall in the shape of the spine section where many boards must have flown into it over the years! it looked pretty funny, about 5 feet up off the floor and for no reason, just a silhouette of the spine! for the record, the place looked like a sweatshop for a clothing company, there was lots of fabric samples and cutting equipment around, but not a sole to be seen. st marys being the sketchy suburb it is, we didn't stay too long.
Markus.G, get your hand off it
STOINK!
heres dylna again with a kickflip this spot got shut down after they put a stupid platic rail inthe way.. 99'
yeah benon, st marys is a sketchy place, i do in fact live there, been chased out of many a spot nd followed round by drunk 'punk' gangs. shame bout the park, all there is now is some snake run thats rough as guts nd packed with needles.
stiffy
thanks for sharing those 5253.
and scott-ay st. marys and that whole area is a tad sketchy!
^^ Loved those shoes! Airwalk 540's methinks...Rad thread
A pleasure to read as always Bennon. Some day (when I have the hardware) I'll put Screen Zine 1 on the net. It has some rad shit of Jake and Wayneos skating the Kareela ramp. Seems Kareela had a history of skater built illegal ramps.
nah josh, you got it wrong, they were airwalk "prototypes"
hey mick, i have the hardware to put screen zine up, next LAN party we'll get onto it...
there so good
:)
was it raining when we got here?
thanks jamal
