I really fucking hate it when companies used the totally played out "helping skateboarding" marketing line. You are not helping skateboarding. You are using skateboarding as a tool to sell your product. Do not tell us you are doing anyone a favour when these comps are a promotions exercise for your company. It's bullshit and you know it. Hats off to the real scene builders who organise shit for no other reason but the enjoyment of skateboarding.
Wait a min mate,
We don't get paid at all to do these Skate Comps. Other than food a drinks and maybe the odd deck we have nothing for sale at the comps. Of course we need to promote ourselves, what company doesn't.
We were approached by the Angaston Street Party organisers last year to do the demo a set the park up so the local teenagers has something to do on the night as all the other activities were for younger kids or adults. We do it for free as well. Everyone that was there had a great time.
You telling me that every other skate comp organised by others has no promotion for themselves attached. The Dew tour, Xgames etc is big business and a huge promotion for the sponsors and the organisers get paid real well. I think they are helping the skate scene by providing the events.
If I was allowed to talk about our future plans you would see that Skating in SA will benefit greatly, just wait and see.
Ok, just so i have this correct. You sell food, drinks and decks at this competition series designed to market your company. Thankyou for helping skateboarding kind sir. You are so selfless. A modern day Mother Theresa in fact. Perhaps we can get you a nobel piece price.
randomas just dont, seriously. Your a embarrassment for anyone who's ever rode a skateboard before.
how does selling decks for 75$, bypassing the industry and taking all the profit benefit SA skateboarding?
you probably charged kids $2 for a burnt snag too.
RandomAs don't listen to these guys, they're just jealous. Now whats this about future plans? You're on the right ticket if it involves sports management or lightweight trucks. Good money in skatepark design/construction as well.
Also mega ramp/vert demos are proving really popular ....
Yeah RandomAs. Keep doing it for the love and for the kids. Don't listen to these dudes, they were probably put up to these negative comments by Andy Walker or other companies feeling the heat from your power moves into South Australian skateboarding.
I think all skateboards are for skaters to use aren't they?
If MV2 are so behind what you do and support you, why would you work against them and sell your boards yourself? Before you say it too I realize MV2 is not in Angaston, but from my understanding you sell boards wherever you are. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Seriously, people doing that are only hurting skating and trying to line their own pockets. Shut down your local shop because they can't make enough to survive and what do the skaters get left with? No choice in boards, no shoes, wheels etc. BTW, this is not just directed at you.
Del Boca, I understand what you are saying and it's more about claiming the "supporting skating", but in a way they are helping skating even if it is also for promotion. Haven't seen many people support comps in small areas like the comps they are putting on.
I think it's great you guys are doing comps, regardless of the fact it is for promotion. SA needs more events and especially in the outer areas.
Yes, putting on comps, demos etc is good for skateboarding. Using this fact in your marketing and claiming it as your motivation is lame, devious and transparent.
you charge $75 for a board! where the fuck are these made? at least that mcfarlane dude sells his boards for around $30... if you cut out the middle man (the skate store) shouldn't these boards be way cheaper... i mean how much are you paying per board? $30? i doubt it... your'e definately making more than your fair share off those boards my man... thanks for helping the skate scene... fucking douche... skate stores don't even buy pro boards from all of the best known and respected companies around the world for that price... if your'e selling them wholesale to kids for more than a company like girl/chocolate sells there product to a skate store whats that telling me? one your product must be fucking amazing or two you have no fucking idea about the skate industry... as i wrote before if you do the right thing by the scene the scene will do the right thing by you... get your shit together man... serious fucking bullshit
Actually, neither way is good, but at least shops have decks they sell for $75 or under, so they're not completely undercutting them.
People always seem to think they've stumbled on an untapped market/brilliant idea of selling boards themselves. It's when they continue to do so when they've been shown why it is wrong that really pisses me off. Just shows they really don't give a fuck about anything, but themselves.
Yeah but it's more random for them to sell them out of there car like hell random locations and times and shit selling them in shops isn't random as or exstream
Like I said in the previous post the decks are for the Team riders, we want to look after our riders. Yes a few have been sold to their mates. The size of a first shipment would not affect any shop in Adelaide. Yes we do have them on sale at our demos but only have sold a couple in towns that only have supermarket decks. There more to show that we are serious about the team riding our own deck than us getting rich quick.
Its like when you go to a Bands live gig a buy their T-Shirt, CD etc. are they affecting the sales in the local shops? No cause if you don't have the money then you goto the shop and buy it later.
When we are ready they will be in shops just like all the other boards. Yes we have talked to some of the shops and they are very interested. We have never said that we are going to cut out the shops only you have OG.
Do you really think a wholesale first run board for $30 including all the print set-up would be good enough for Mike Peake to Skate & rep for us. I don't think so. We made sure the decks were strong enough for the team to ride. Mike loves the decks and so do anyone who have ridden them.
I think you need to drop Mike Peake's name more when justifying yourself. You only used him twice in the last post. Have you thought about using a photo of him as your avatar for the extra cred?
Why is there a dude with fish hooks in his back?
Why is there drifting at lala?
What does this have to do with skateboarding? Props for comps... but what are you doing?
that stuff that isn't skating is random as!

parks also under gone a repaint from the gay orange and yellow to lots of black doesn't look half bad..wish it wasn't painted at all.
OZsleyer asmusch as i love slayer... it must be hard to start up a company and get people to demo's, buy boards and shit but frankly i think the best companies that come and go are the ones made by skaters for skaters. Walker skates an elan boards kids see him skating elan so kids will generally by an elan deck next time they are looking at the great wall of boards. He is also VERY approachable as a person to a young ragamuffin who wants a board or know where to get them from. Macfarlene rides his boards and they quite often sell..not for much but at least they are selling. U gotta have some love ozslyer...get ur ass down the park talk to the kids but not ABOVE them. U can't feed a kid peas without knowing what they taste like urself...end rant..
People buy élan because élan are good boards at a reasonable price, not mention the fact walker is a fucking good dude who is out there skating with all of us and I would even go as far to say walker is the face of Adelaide skateaboarding, does anyone know any of the random as faces aside from mike peak who's name you seem to drop way to often witch I must add is doing him no faviors before all this random as shit all I knew about peaky was he is a good dude who ripped and having recently meet him myself he seemed like a good Dude, but all people think now when they think peaky is random as witch everyone thinks is a joke
peakeys a sick cunt
he kills halletts

500 o.n.o hit me up yo!
Andy Walker gave me a set of wheels at city, for no reason other than he heard that mine had flat spots on them.
Would you do that? or is it not "random" enough?
