Things change. Was dope way back, but is also dope in a lot of ways now. Especially for the young guys in it now. It's their scene now. Some things were better back then, some are better now.
People have more often that not been stoked on Adelaide wether it was back then or now. It's the people. Always stoked to see new heads, cause not that many people do come over and crew here always down to show em around and are easy going.

In the end Fuck it. Your scene is what you make it. Ya gotta move with it, not try to keep it where it was years ago. If anyone thinks there's something missing do something about it.

1. we had a nationally distributed magazine - that local riders could get coverage and sponsored skaters could get incentives - get more sponsors, more product, more money.

2. we had 2 indoor parks plywood playground and sk8 fx

3 we had a competive market place between daily , jettys, street cleaner skateboard world

4 there was f all scooters

5. demos actually came to Adelaide

6. comps actually came to Adelaide

7 in wasn't segregated it was north south city, rarely someone didnt get along

i can go on

If it sliding downhill, you have to try keep it or emulate
the positives of the past, highlighted above.

your right thought walker the time to fix it was when i had the shop.
now we have to almost start from scratch

literary one gut left (jake) the scene dropped then they all stopped skating.

Just want to make a couple of points, but can't be fucked going on about it as different people have different views...

1. we had a nationally distributed magazine - that local riders could get coverage and sponsored skaters could get incentives - get more sponsors, more product, more money.

Everyone here has every opportunity to get into Slam and no doubt the Journal, but that comes down to them being keen enough to get onto it and make the effort.

2. we had 2 indoor parks plywood playground and sk8 fx

Bummer, but indoor parks just aren't viable.

3 we had a competive market place between daily , jettys, street cleaner skateboard world

Skating was booming back then. No way you could sustain another shop in the city now. There's some great shops around ADL anyway, just spread apart more. Doubt prices would be any different and if they were shops wouldn't be lasting long.

4 there was f all scooters

True, but what can you do.

5. demos actually came to Adelaide

True, but now more people buy online taking money away and again the smaller market.

6. comps actually came to Adelaide

Still have comps. Think Dailys put on the ones that had interstate people at them?

7 in wasn't segregated it was north south city, rarely someone didnt get along

Always been some segregation. I actually think there's less now. Never had any issues with crew, but you always hear shit around the place about someone not liking someone. Not everyone's gonna get along.

That's my take on it all.

I'm not taking it as an insult and it'd be great if more people were doing more and some are, but whatever. My point was I don't think it's that bad.

Slam and other mags are there if people shoot enough with either myself or Dre.

Theeve are keen as to do more stuff over summer, which I'll be working with them on. People need to support the brands/shops putting on events if they want more. Simple as that.

Enough for me. Going skating!
