im just posting to say i hate when cunts bump threads coz they dont wanna scroll down and change to the second page to find it.. it really really gets up my goat wen people do that. i mean fuck, it only takes an extra 10 seconds to get to the thread you want. but you have to post in it with complete jibberish so it gets back onto page 1.

if you do that type of thing ur a poop nose.

also i would just like to say hi to everyone and also that the good parks in adl are too far from my place of residence. this comment covers me from being that first thing i described.

thanks for reading.

Not sure about that, but I did read that Salisbury is getting a big...youth complex. One of those flowrider things, and a skate park are supposed to be included.

No dates though so i doubt it would be in the next year

would be sick if they did a plaza at taperoo, and then a big fuck off combi pool at westbeach finally. instead of arguing about plaza vs tranny just quit holding things up and get both.

there was something in the paper a month or so back about taperoo. anyone know if its convic making it?

Not a plaza. Lee attempted to have some input, but bailed eventually from not being listened to. Said it's not all bad, but we'll see. Pete Young is the designer, did Salisbury & Pooraka I think?

Westbeach should have a plaza. Seriously, why can't people see that the opportunity to have the most well rounded park in Adelaide will never happen anywhere but there. Fuck all you selfish pricks that are only looking out for yourselves. That place with a plaza would churn out the most well rounded skaters and do amazing things for ADL. You could have every comp aspect there at once. For all you that will say I'm being selfish, whatever. I'd happily have it somewhere else if it wasn't for the above reasons.

Be great if ADL got a park that's from this century eventually. If anywhere needs somewhere with a good street park it's here.

Fail.

Why doesn't the council spawn out and find someone fresh who's actually involved in the fucking scene to design these parks. Not someone that keeps designing mediocre eye sores...

we need a plaza, there's already like 10 parks I can think of in Adelaide that are bowl orientated... sure a full sized loop/cradle would be tight, but in terms of getting one well made that is cost effective I cant imagine councils being too psyched on a 50 k$ mega structure that 4 people are gonna skate.. I would rather skate a well constructed concrete mini than a lumpy mega ramp, designed by someone with high aspirations but little idea as to what is actually good.

prospect is a great example of a basic cost effective skatepark that is utilised everyday and has (in my opinion) done v. positive things for local skateboarders as well as the kids in surrounding suburbs....

without any disrespect to pete young, neither salisbury or pooraka had any flow about them at all and whoever built them did a poor job and made a few of the sections of each part useless and unskateable.

just saying.

It seems that Convic are the only people who make parks these days, and whilst they may build nice bowls, unfortunately their street designs/constructions are fucking shit.

Have a look at West Beach (built a long time ago, I know) and that new place in Newcastle with miles of unskateable ledges - useless because they were made in a stupid zig-zag pattern.

So if Convic are involved (and they usually are) you can expect bowls or some mediocre street crap.

As Jack said, take $20k and build some ledges and a hubba. More cost effective, and more effective for skaters.

No evans, just thought I'd research Convic parks to piss people off.

Walker is there an organization (like those associations who claim to represent 'wheeled sports') whom you can get in touch with or become a part of, so that when a new SA park is in the pipeline, you can have some sane input?

I'd trust you at the helm, but not other people who claim to represent skateboarding.

Yeah guess we wouldn't want a new Convic designed park similar to those that have popped up in recent years, like in Geelong, Cairns, North Sydney or Capalaba...

Having skated capalaba i found it refreshing and a nice change to skate, but it wasnt at all amazing, the bowl was amazing, but the street section just had some strange angles and banks that didnt help its cause.

Also im gunna put it out there, flaggies is a fair boring park, thats just my opinion though. And im only talking street stuff

I fully endorse a Clifton Hill styled 'plaza'.
Small, plenty of obstacles but not packed in.

Convic make some good parks. A lot of the shit they have down, but still make mistakes.

Gotta say I agree with the Flaggies comment. Not a big fan of that place myself. It's good and all, but just doesn't do it for me.

I'm too impatient when it comes to councils and organisations. Too much bullshit to deal with. If I had the time yeah, but I struggle at times to get my own shit done so I can get out and skate. Right now is the perfect example. Hanging for a roll! Too fucked from working even if I could. *end whinging.

That said I am going to try with Churchies council to try to get that extended. Will let everyone know when I get round to it.

wow, definitely expected to get hated on for the flaggies comment.

i find it to be the same as grove and alot of parks, there just isnt anything small there that u can mess around on for hours. ie city park manny pad. thats why that park while everything there has ever been done and its dirty as hell is still kinda fun to hang out because its right there infront of where everyone sits. grove and flaggies doesnt really have that. u can go there and skate get some tricks, but i cant see myself hanging out there for hours.

etc etc. im too lazy anyways haha
