I been listening to my "you can't do that on stage anymore vol. 1" and this time round i'm seeing why those tracks were selected and ordered like that. I didn't realise they were randomly spaced in time from start to end of live recordings available... liner notes are cool and the tracks tend to have a common theme from each song to the next.
in pretty much everything i heard so far there's always that idea behind what goes next, i like it. Seems like there is some overarching master plan going on the whole time.

"Conceptual continuity" is what Zappa called it. It's funny how you can hear a song for years, and then hear another song, and then next time you hear the first song you find more jokes or parts of another story, or a little bit of character development...

Yeah real drab and grey over my way too. Shoulda known that would be the case when I went and got new shoes last night (og black volleys $30 SCORE! haha) and set up a new deck ready for the weekend. I suppose the upside of it being too wet to get a roll on is that I'll have fresh legs to do some drums. Got one song to do drums on, and then re-do the guitars as I've just done scratch tracks to the click so far - got a mate gonna sing on it because I originally wrote the song for the band, and he sang the original dodgy demo I made for the band to learn it - the guitarist just couldn't do it though, o it never got used for the band. Then another one I've done all except the vocals, but I'm gonna re-do the rhythm guitar tracks and probably the bass just to get it locked in a bit tighter with the drums. That got long pretty quick. I thought it would just be a short little paragraph.
