Uncle meat is a bit funny – it’s the soundtrack to the movie, and the movie seems to be just a bunch of leftover stuff or something all slapped together – then again the 200 Hotels movie seems really all over the place until you give it a good half a dozen watches – man I used to love that movie. Dunno what happened to either of the two copies I used to have. I’d say the 200 motels album would be a better pick then Uncle Meat.
What are the first three? Chunga’s Revenge is in the first three eh? That’s a pretty good one (it might be the second one maybe?) Freak out is ok, but it’s got a real 60’s kinda sound to it though – hard to explain, but yeah it’s kinda not as …I dunno it’s hard to explain…it’s got that Mexican dude doing a fair bit of singing, and I’m not really a fan of his voice…
Weasels Ripped My Flesh is pretty good – a mix of “songs” and instrumentals. Has a blues number with Jean Luc Ponty on violin – I used to hate violin until I heard it, then it was like “oh well if the violin can sound like that, then it’s not the violin I hate, just those other guys were shit”. Fullout blues guitar licks on violin!
Maybe…We’re only in it for the money – that’s a bit more tripped out if that’s what you’re after…funny stories and stuff in some of the songs
Oh yeah – Just another band from LA is fkn good! Only five songs, but they’re pretty good, and the first track “Billy the mountain” goes for about 25 minutes – it has bits of story that tie in with lots of other stuff too. Like Greggary Peckary or whatever his name is (the pig with the bow tie who invented the calendar ring a bell?)…depends if you know what I’m talking about though – which there’s a good chance you might not….
