yeah alisterio buller is ok. it's small but it's ok and it's enough when you're just needing a weekend at the snow but it would be nice to go to falls more often.

has anyone here done/doing a working holiday in canada??
just looking for some general information about them.
- would you recomend it?
- how much cash should i take? ect. ect.
google working holidays canada. theres a few crowds about that will set you up with a job and accomodation and cheap seasons tickets and alot of extra perks. would be better going through one of them as they organise all your shit for you

megamanX makes sure you get your working visa before you go over because it'll be a pain to get when you're there (dont even think it's possible). the thing with it though is that aussies only get it for 12 months and once in a lifetime if that's correct?
i didn't get one before i went over and suffered with the lack of work over there....

its hard to find work for a number of reasons:
i dont have a vagina- MANY more jobs for good looking women than good looking men here.
im not qualified in anything- why hire an un qualified guy when u can hire someone that has a uni degree.
i am only 18- age of majority here is 19, so its like hiring a kid
im a lazy cunt- yes thishas a little to do with it
i got here too late- i wasnt here for the job fair in late oct, everyone who went to thatgot a job before the seaon started, thats were most jobs are filled.
its been a bad season- so people are getting layed off left, right and centre.
basically, if you dont have those issues, you will find work easy as, something will come up, but it has taken lots of persistence even to get this far!
when i said 8 grand, that includes:
getting my passport and visa, return flights, pre paying my rent and bond for the entire season, buying a season pass, groceries and beer and general snowboarding merch thus far. pretty cheap when u think about it.
you can live here easily for under $20a day, more if u buy grog. beer is ridicuously shit here, and really expensive, but a bottle of cc is like $23!
i got a 2 year working visa, and u can get it as many times as you want i beleive if you are under 30, dont have a criminal record and cough up the $170...
all in all itsmoney well spend, ilost track of how many daays ive had riding at around 40, but it hs been every day since december basically...
yeh im at BW aswell, but luckily for me i was able to set up a job before i came by just emailing the right people. Dont ever bother with a company like OWH or rthatm there a massive joke. i came over here with 5,5 grand in the bank and i now have 4 grand, with like 400 in my canadian account. I live off about $10 a day cos i work as a cook so food is easy to come by. if you dont want the hassle of working etc, just save around 9G up and go to a resort for say 3 months. Jobs come up every day, you just need to be in the right place at the right time.

Has it been snowing in Big White JV? I was in Fernie fore like a month, and the snow was sick, then i rained and was shit. Im in Lake Louise now though and the snow is just as shit here now aswel. Going back to Fernie soon, then hitting up Big White at Revelstoke. Hopefully it snows soon!
