haha so true rayner,

my friend put this 10 min japan vid he made on facebook, where they had a fuckin airbag jump (wtf) and rubbed it in my face, such a cunt

It was at Niseko. I saw it but didn't get the chance to try it. They didn't open it until 2 days after I left. The awesome pow more than made up for it though.

haha the bag jump is awesome, so good
but super gnarly for whiplash

rayner, NBS ski school is the best paying ski school in niseko.
they also provide some decent accom with meals included.

not sure if they are going to have the same thing next season, but i hope that helps anyway
accom is pretty easy to get if you look early. just like anywhere i suppose

yeah gus theirs some good rock drops and stuff all around, especially on the summit on a good day!

theirs 2 parks as well so makes it heaps less congested

yeah mate its pretty easy. Im a lifty up their. if you dont get a job straight away come about half way through the season. alot of first timers quit because they dont like the lifestyle up their, and a heap of chicks quit the lift company coz its pretty physical shovelling and stuff sometimes. so managers are looking for staff about end of july august.
the same thing happens every year....
my friend applied for the lifts last season and got knocked back at first. then in august we were really short staffed and I told him to come up, and they offered him a job till the end of the season,
so yeah if u get knocked back dont give up!

just apply for as much shit as u can and take it from their mate! idid u get an interview for lifts do u know?

im gonna post some pics up from japan!

another +1 for Falls. Rad place to work. Uni this year so will only be there for occasionally but will most likely be applying for full time work up there once i'm finished.

Some very fun terrain off the back side of summit when there's good snow, tree runs and nice drops.

I was in Hakuba early in the season. They had only just opened 47's terrain park when I was there this year. It was still nice and fluffy though. Didn't go off piste at all either, was with a noob. No biggy though, I may still get one more weekend up the hill this winter. Thinking about Naeba/Kagura again or maybe Nozawa Onsen with the wife.

Nozawa Onsen is a really nice place, and best of all its largely unspoiled by aussies for most of the year.

Just got back from a weekend working at thredbo at the CMC festival. obviously no snow, but they were predicting some up the top. cant wait for the season

9 Mar 2010 · 9 Mar 2010 9:29 AM
El Jacko, everywhere is mostly unspoiled by Aussies except Hakuba and Niseko. They are the only two places worth going to in Japan though so I recommend all you Aussies limit your Japanese experience to them (and then leave all the rest of em to me!!!!)

Saying that, I aint never seen powder like Niseko . . . . anywhere.

i would say that hakuba is spoiled, very quickly becoming spoiled by aussies. last time i was there it was full of aussies, whereas apart from the times around the fire festival, nosawa onsen seems to be pretty exclusively japanese.

Oh yeah, forgot to say that for anyone looking for work up at Falls this season I'm pretty sure Halley's Ski Hire is looking for a couple of peeps to work retail/hire and tune boards and skis.

If anyone's keen I'll check for you and pass on phone numbers.
