yeah cunts buying a ticket to canada for november next week. just waiting to hear back about my taxes and if im allowed back in the country again. My 2 year visa is about to run out even though I only used it for a year and was only granted in a year so hopefully thats all good, but for people that have lived in canada. Did you get your tax back. My first year apparently I owed them over a grand but the HR block accountant told me that if I never file it they will never know about it and ill get off scot free. got my T4 back for the year after a couple months ago and did a tax calculator online and it said I was going to get !200CAD back so i was stoked. But my buddy just got a letter in the mail saying he owed them 1300 bucks so a bit confused if I should just not bother filing it and see how I go. Might give an accountant in canada a call.

Keen to go snowboarding in Japan for about a week at the end of next year (instead of going to schoolies) with a few mates. Wondering if anyone has done this and how much it would approximately cost.

i did it like last summer for 2 weeks. it cost us about 5k all up with air fares when the dollar was at its very lowest. for a week you could probs manage on 2k but you would definatly want more to be comfortable

I just got back from 3 months over in japan zebra...if you want to save cash avoid going to Niseko, shit is expensive their eg $2000 season pass compared to $700 season pass elsewhere. i was in hakuba which is still an amazing place with sick terrain (the 1998 olympics were held there). Its a pretty small town surrounded by 12 resorts....
in the 3 months i was their i spent about 6 grand all up including accom and airfares, once u figure out how to live cheap in japan you can survive for ages, i only left due to my visa expiring, if not id still be their! if you have any questions im happy to help

Scotty you picked up a job when you were over there right? Where abouts is hakuba? if hakuba would be cheaper id probably be looking at staying for like 2 or if possible 3 weeks. do you reckon thatd be possible with 3K?

Hey alisterio

They got such nice photos and seemed to know all these awsome spots. i was loving strawberry fields that spot was soo mad. deff goin back up there in couple more yrs with another bunch.

El Jacko the travel lady who helped book our stuff went to Hakuba. she said it was awsome. deff would love to check that place out to if i go back.

looks deep very nice..

i'm up in the air now about going to canada mianly due to tax reasons so Im considering japan. I really want to buy a ticket somewhere this week or next so i actually have a date to stick by so i can save in time.

alisterio and scotty any tips? like scotty said wont do niesko if its to expensive. i'm fine living in the cheap and i am really only going to be going there for the snow. I want to board as much as possible. dont care what job i have but preferably night work as thats what I did in Alberta and got 90 days up the hill. Is it hard to get a job as a lifty? do you go out drinking much and if i was to only be there over the uni break from end of november till end of feb what would you recommend. If i could find work would $4000 aud be enough to take over?

yeah ketamine, it was usally REAL deep!

i can't remember what i was paying for accomodation in hakuba last time, but it wasn't that cheap from memory...

i know in niseko though, there is plenty of night work, and most jobs are cash in hand... although i'm not sure what they get paid. generally speaking, i think its about 800 yen an hour or something like that.

rent in town was like 11,000 yen (like $140) a week if you're in a shared house or similar.
i'm not sure how much the backpacker places there charge, but i think they are about $30 a night or thereabouts.

hope that helps!

anyone doing queenstown this season? i'll probably be there around early july or something like that
