oh and Scot my friend wants to know what is the best way to get a job at falls?
this is the lift company website which i applied on..which is like lift stuff, instructors, rental ppl.. a couple of bars etc
http://www.fallscreekemployment.com/employmentFCSL/default.aspthen this site is for all other stuff like private lodges, hire shops pubs etc
http://www.fallscreek.com.au/JobAdsso yeah for thelift company just tell him to apply over the net the then u get an interview in march i think in melbourne then if ur successful you're in!
that first pic u took looks amazing dude.....umm i stole those fisrt 2 pics off this dudes photography site....then the 3rd one of the one footer was a friends pic which he emailed me
but i just realised that the first pic up the top of the page, the sequence shot..was from style wars 07 coz the jumps are on th other side of the lift haha
got my accom in big white sorted. leaving in 28 days!
i want to work either buller orfalls next year...
im really keen to do a season next year in aus. but i am unsure on which mountain to choose in victoria
ive only ever boarded at hotham.
would someone be able to point out the main differences between falls buller and hotham?
Falls is looking pretty good just on the fact that style wars is there.
but im thinking of going to hotham because i have an idea of the mountain etc.
Roll did you work on the lifts? how much were you getting paid. or how much would a first timer be getting an hour?
hey jamesR...yeah man i worked the lifts at falls..i was on 19 an hour when i was in training then was on 21 an hour once i was trained... lift operators also get a lil bit more. next yr ill get an additional $3 becoz ill be a 2nd yr worker and its like a bonus for coming back so yeah..... the main differences between the 3 VIC resorts would be ....Hotham is alot steeper than falls and buller and has alot more Black/advanced runs, Buller would probably be the busiest just because its the closest to Melbourne and probly would get the most beginners which would be shitter working conditions because u would always be helping ppl on ad off lifts etc..but Buller is probably arguably the funnest resort to ride when all runs and the whole mountain is open...falls has an awesome terrain park and alot of intermediate runs..the things i really enjoyed about falls ...
-even in peak season we wernt really that busy
-fallscreek is made up of 3 seperate mounains so there is a big variety of stuff to ride
-their is alot of tree runs through forests etc and u can always findsomewhere to get fesh tracks.
- because all mountain is enclosed in a bowl sort of shape u really dont get too many windy days as opposed to Hotham. (exept on scots chair)
-we have style wars!!!
-we have a mini staff terrain park outside our bedrooms with ledges rails pole jams a quarter pipe which only we could ride at night under lights which was really fun.
-We live at the bottom of one of the runs so as soon as u wake up and ur out the front door your off riding- NO WALKING!!!!
- Falls Village is ski in/ski out - which means the village has been built so everything is aimed down hill so u never walk anywhere ...like i boarded to the supermarket then got the lift back up to my place
yeah man its a sweet gig...had such a ball, we had 2 chicks who worked the lifts at Buller in the 07 season and they enjoyed Falls more than they did at buller, so yeah if u apply let me know and i can try help u out!!! i definitely reccomend coming... u too JV!!!
oh and i should mention that the night life is insane!!!! like in the whole 3 months i was their, there was only 4 nights when i didnt go out...and its good coz u go out and have fun...ride all the time and at the end of the week ur still making profit from working!
yeh falls sounds fun as
JV you got the accom you deserved, nice work, if im homeless after two weeks i know where to come hahaha
only exams to go, then i can think ofthe freedom of boarding
Hey James i didnt realise that u were James Rossy!!! haha...its scotty from riverside ill discuss this more next time i see u at riverside if ur working or skating! wel probs be working Skate safe or something together lol
haha roll i actually have the same name as the more well known 'James Ross'. People often remind me of it. um yeah thanks for all the info. much appreciated.
how does the accomodation get sorted out? do you get given a place to stay when you get a job?
haha oh sorry man lol.... yeah u stay in the staff building calld nissen which is at the bottom ofthe summit and the village home trail... u pay 95 a week which gets taken out of ur pay.. and ul live with 3 other dudes...in ur room u get like a fridge, microwave, tv, bathroom, shower and bunk style accomadation then theirs a big kitchen/common room area downstairs with ovens, stoves and 3computerz which u can get onto th net with...but theirs also wireless internet if u have a laptop if u wanna get on the net from ur room.. its pretty basic accomodation but u only ever use ur room for sleeping or if u have a lady!
SO WERE THE FUCK IS EVERYONE?!
