I know a few Nulla's that skate Monster vert on the regs and have just started skating Bondi, so a bowl wouldn't go astray, but I'm all for a damn good plaza and flow park.

In responce to Mr cobast, we did all we could, this was one of three draft designs rejected by council for kincumber. The site size was then reduced, and a contractor other than those we recomended was hired, so...............

it has good street; ledges, stairs, rails etc. and a good bowl. it basicly is a plaza with tranny, hayden!

The tender docs went out a few days ago to 5 companies.
The council is running a feedback meeting on Wednesday night Feb 17 at 530.
Agenda to come but it's for skaters and advocates only. They're gunna give an update on what's happening and what they want us to think about for when the consult starts.

Disappointing turn out. 6 people and 2 from the council.
Anyway, there's still 3 processes to go through. Design consultation, fitting it in with the State Beach Reserve, and the DA.

But, they have stipulated $1 million should be spent on the park.

Tenders close 24-2-10 with winner given a tour of the site 15-3-10.

We're getting together soon to sus out getting people interested again. We nearly shit ourselves with embarrassment the other night.
Anyway, just remember. ONE MILLION DOLLARS!

That turn out does sound dissapointing, I would have gone but I didnt know because I rarely check the park section. Maybe a thread should be made in the skate section if there is anything that requires a good turnout. I dunno. Sounds like everything is going pretty sweet though.

Whats the latest?

The assessment of the tenders for consultation and design of the park are finished and the recommendation was passed to the Director of Engineering. By now it may be with the GM. He makes the final decision on which tendering company to go ahead with.
Just now the main hold up is the plan of management for the area now that it's a state surfing reserve. There's no reason for the park not to go in, just 3 dick heads stirring up locals and bureaucracy moving slowly.

Typical for Sutherland Shire Council....yet more crap...

Looks like the park will be MILES from transport and Cronulla...will be close to Kurnell though...

And the Council dont even need to spend one cent...
They just told the developers that are building all the houses right on top of where we wanted the park they they have to pay for the skatepark...
Do you think they will spend heaps on it or build it for as little amount of cash as poss...
