Europe: R-R-Remix

Ayo, I am back in Europe for 4-5 months and thought I would give a snap shot of some countries/cities you may or may not have visited. Hopefully give you an insight of places worth visiting for skating....or debauchery.

First off the bat was Budapest, Hungary. 50-50 tuckknee warm ups brah.

There are a lot of spots around. All pretty easy to walk to. We didn't use public transport in the two weeks we visited. They have a hire bike scheme like Melbourne which was a good alternative.

The main crew getting around is Rios Crew. Quarter Snacks have an interview with the homies and there are plenty of videos on youtube to see the spots. The scene is pretty quiet. One main skatepark where there are you usual skatepark kids doing boring x-game runs.

Board dancing is pretty accepted everywhere. Of course you'll get the boot from major spots but people are pretty chill.

You can probably hit up most of the spots in a week. I am on a chill mission (relax son) so two weeks was perfect to meet some locals and get invited to some great places. Wall ride grinds are all the go.

Reality does set in after the beauty though. You are in Eastern Europe. Shit is rough. After waiting for the crackies to move on the ledges are still unforgiving.

This spot is pretty ideal. Sadly placed in tourist central.

There are bars called Ruin Bars that are abandoned buildings with multiple rooms. They can get pretty touristy but some are worth checking out.

I think the Rios boys made this rough DIY park near the city centre. David, my homeboy, gave me the werd that it was pretty active in the day but now has a shirt off, muscle building complex next to it.

"Killed the vibe, you know what I mean". Still was rad none the less.

Give me a holla if you need directions to this bad boy.

Zagreb, Croatia

I didn't get to skate in Zagreb but explored a bit and talked to some of the big heads in the scene. Spots are not abundant but the scene is pretty rad. A lot of DIY stuff happening and it is a close trip to Split where I was told marble ledges etc are popping up everywhere. The local store Chill was core.

Ended up at a spliff rolling contest in an abandoned dance hall. Surprisingly there were quite a few skaters there..........

I think the winner got a free trip to Amsterdam to the European titles. Maybe it will be in the Olympics one day.

The next night ended up at a squat with a party happening. Surprisingly, again, there were skaters there....

There was a bunch a DJ's spinning and cheap alcohol. All funds raised went towards helping the build of a new DIY skatepark in the city. This is the owner of Chill skate store and the rad dude behind organising the fundraiser.

The dude was super humble but obviously worked hard and loved his local scene. Putting in the big effort and love to keep it growing. Much love.
