The last thing we need is another pre-fabricated park such as shellharbour, albion park, albion park rail, jamberoo, gainsborough. (All these parks are exactly the same as each other, and are 5 minutes from each other, such a waste of funds)

You're right about the pre-fabs, and hopefully those hideous words aren't in the council's ideas. Fuck, I just wish every park was built by Convic.

I'd say its in Berkeley because its a troubled area and by giving them a skate park there hoping to lower the crime that comes with all the youth out that way and actually give them something to do,personally I think it will be fine out there can't be and worse than people that go to fez to hang out really,like cam said its better than no park at all and yes let's hope it's not a pre fab park,how about someone put pen to paper and draw a sketch up of what could work for the park that way it gives everyone a visual look on what exactly everyone is after,personally I think our chances for a proper engineered park is slim considering they cost a lot more to build unlike the the pre fab park that can be knocked up in 2weeks

Could some of you lads please get to this thing so the local kids don't design a giant crack pipe / syringe shaped concrete park. I can't make it there. The local council have no fucking idea so someone needs to be there. Show them pics of mac fields and belco. We don't want just a plaza.

Disappointing to see the turnout at Berkeley this morning, we've all been wanting a new park for ages & finally somethings getting done about it and nobody could be bothered showing up.
Including myself there was about 5 other skaters, poor effort. Even the Mrs got in and had a say.

Sure its not in the greatest spot, who cares? Beggars can't be choosers. Just for the record, its been allocated a $600,000 budget, so I'm fairly certain we won't end up with another pre-fab.

Anyways, rant over. I grabbed one of the surveys that are being handed back to council, photocopied it a few times and dropped them into Kingpin. So if you guys could be bothered and want to have a say, I'd suggest getting one filled out and leave it at the shop. I'll be picking them up sometime in the week and taking them back to Sophie at council.

Start supporting this boys, its about time we got something new.

Oh, and to clarify, not a single scooter kid showed up. Although there was a bunch of old cunts complaining about whatever it is old people complain about, and they outnumbered us by far.

So is there further information about the park in Berkeley? It was a huge topic for a couple days, I haven't heard anything new.

Sophie from Council is organizing a design consultation just for the skaters this time, sometime in the next month or so. She'll get back to me with a date/time etc. when its all sorted and I'll let you fellas know.

when i was growing up there we had to hassle council monthly for close to 15 years to get anything and when we got parks we had nothing to reference against. so we got unanderra and Fezmez.
