A bit tech (dare I say pseudo tech?) and the neck pickup neo-classical thing doesn't do it for me.
Was that bass tapping? It kinda fucked with the mix the way it changed for that bass bit.

if Opeth didn't play long songs they wouldn't be opeth now would they. their sound and style is based on the idea of making metal in a flowing, epic and somewhat progressive way. take away that aspect of their music and they're just another verse chorus bridge solo death metal band

its ok man. one day your taste in music will develope and you'll appreciate a band like opeth. i wouldn't judge them on songs. its more about whole albums, flowing, goodness. if you smoke cones have a few and listen to a whole album it will probably change your tune haha
