Soundwave guitarshocks.
Dave Navarro using an Ibanez the whole show, not his signature PRS.
Scott Ian from Anthrax using a Jackson RR5 rhoads and then an EVH wolfgang, and NOT his signature washburn.
Does that give you faith in their signature models?

BAHAHAHA
"Ahh your a wanker vai!"
thats fucking hilarious.. couldn't have said it better..
That clip doesn't sell me that pedal at all pig, why do you like it? Any over-satched grunt-stomper would sound that good with so much shitty wet-fx over the top, front pickup clean camoflage, and vai behind the strings. For me it sounds over fuzzy and processed. Don't forget hes running it through some very spendo amps as well.
Man I can't believe i used to worship this guy, he makes me wanna hurl now and pretty much represents everything i hate about guitar. I guess the negro's gotta earn a living and everyone expects that kind of shit outta him.
I grew up with a mate of mine as a kid who was a vai cloning genious. At age 14 he was being begged to teach at the local music shop and could play vai solos like a freak. Nowdays he plays in a doom band with zero solos, plays a PRS and would probably knife-neck before pulling his vai-solo dick again.. Everyone grows up eventually..

Yeh Megaman, I'd heard about this a little while back.
Coreys back using Jackson guitars and Matt is back using his Gibson Les Paul Customs (and that explorer he pulled out too. Epic).
Corey was using the Phil Demmel Sig models but I've heard rumours that both of them could be getting sig models (corey, jackson - matt, gibson)
Shutdown, can appreciate that it's not everyones cup of tea.
I've heard it played into a really dirty amp and it sounds super nice.
A stated earlier in this thread, Vai might not be everyones cup of tea, but I'm a big fan.
To each their own :)
Except Nickleback. Fuck those guys.

Nah man nickelback are sick
do i need a D-Tuner on my Floyd-Rose to tune to drop d?
or whats the easiest way to tune to drop-d
or whats the easiest way to tune to drop-d
Get a normal bridge man
look as far as drop tuning a floyd, i used to have a little system worked out so i could do it fairly quickly.
firstly i take the back cover plate off and leave it off. to drop d the bitch, i'd tighten the screw in the back for the low end of the bridge. only a turn and a half. i did this because i was hoping that when the string was tuned down, since the spring was tightened it would all even out.
then i'd just tune all the strings. i did this method for years because i only had the one guitar. in the end i was very quick at it and was able to keep the bridge floating at roughly the right angle when changing tunings.
its a crude way of going about it and it does take a minute or two, but it will save you having to buy another guitar if you can deal with it

Hey does anyone here know much about amps?
I've been looking at some of the amps orange have and heard alot of good things about them.
Not really sure what would be better between a rockerverb and a thunderverb. Deffinatley want to go with an orange for the amazing clean tones and the dirty crunch would be sweet for rock

El Dictator..
I havn't got much positive to say about that song you linked apart from, it kinda sounds like one of those southpark piss-take tracks. At first I thought you were taking the piss.. then I realised it was serious..
So rather than just destroy your anus with harsh rippings, I will just post some constructive criticism.
* Midi pianos and other samples sound terrible / as if they came off a $50 fm synth soundcard. Look into sound fonts or leech some dedicated audio plugins to replace that stuff.
* The vocals are forced, fake, and out of tune. (hence the southpark reference). They are kinda trying to sound like one of those nickelback vox tones but it's just not coming off. Tell the guys to go get some vox lessons, their technique is all wrong.
No comments on the guitars, i guess they are ok (tbh i didn't listen to the song long enough to really hear it).

johno have you considered the AD30. to me thats the classic Orange sound. and at only 30 watts theres more chance you'll be able to crank it some more and make the most of the poweramp valve saturation
Have all but officially placed my order for my new Distortion Pedal.
Suhr Riot.
Now to endure the month and a half wait for arrival!

Ahh yer I'll check out the ad30. Would 30 watts be loud enough to jam with. Tubes amps sound great when they are cranked so I wouldn't be gettin a 100watt
"Would 30 watts be loud enough to jam with"
hmm.. id aim for 50 watts, especially if your drummer is kinda loud / hits em hard.. I got a 50 watt Marshall jcm 800 combo and it has to be driven pretty hard to drive over the top of a rock drumkit. Its nice to have a bit of juice under the hood in reserve. It's also very nice running out to a quaddie when playing on stage and having a head that isnt red-lining the whole time to keep up.

thanks for the advice I'll keep lookin around for a little while

Just seen a ad50 in the custom shop on the orange site so that would sweet
thanks for being constructive with your critisism shutdown. I'll take it onboard
You cannot link the amount of wattage to volume ever. Especially with valve amps. Every amp company makes their amps differently and the wattage is not related to volume at all. Make sure you understand that when buying an amp.
Ahh k yer I don't really know to much about amps that's why I'm asking for advice
you should check out Egnater amps. they do a mean valve amp
I got a marshall JMC800... Goes off.
i've got a 35watt fender and its fuckloads louder than any drum kit i've heard. i can't even put it about "1" in my bedroom. the more you push a valve amp the better. 30watt valve is plenty loud enough for any jam or pub show you'll ever play. anywhere you require bigger they should have a decent enough PA to that you won't need bigger
