"next one is May 13th at the Sando in Newtown"

i might roll up for a sus.. sando is my local anyhut so not major effort.
PPIG..5 Mar 2010
Could make it a bit of an 'unofficial sk8parx catchup and get drunk and shit' event.
Sshutdown5 Mar 2010
sounds good.. still meaning to hit you up for some beers PIG but flat out with a project-from-hell atm.

Having said that, sussing a band at the local isnt going to affect that cos id be out getting mashed either way.. ha

METAL AND WOLFKAHN should definately play a show together
DDeathMoth5 Mar 2010
yo shutdown. i've just moved down to syd, i live in summer hill near the station. i always seem to end up in at newtown, we should grab a beer cunt
Sshutdown5 Mar 2010
oath.. DeathMoth, and oath a sk8parx metal and beers night would be sweet.

make it happen elder, im super keen to come see the kahn as well but everytime I see you guys on a bill its on one of those 24 metal bands in 24 hours gigs which im usually too lazy to navigate.. A good olde 3-4 band night would be awesome.. Fucking book in Metal, Wolfkahn and Some other goons (ibex?) for a show somewhere like the sando pronto..
Sshutdown5 Mar 2010
fuck gimme a month or two's notice and I'll put a metal band together to play support with you cunts hahaa..

elder on guest vocals, sequenced guitar and bass and my lame arse on guitar..
Sshutdown5 Mar 2010
"sequenced drums and bass"
DDeathMoth5 Mar 2010
haha
i'm talkin to these kiwi cunts about getting this band happening. i was with them last night and it erupted into a Spinal Tap band feud...pretty sure the lads are gunna bail on the drummer.

in other news... where the fuck is my Slave To The Grind cd?

oi i know everyone thinks flod-roses are shit

but

i took out one spring because it was really stiff and now it feels good but was that a bad idea?

also have the low E fine tuner screwed right up so i can loosen it to drop d
DDeathMoth6 Mar 2010
i love floyd rose, don't put words in my mouth bitch

taking a spring out is ok

but your method of drop tuning will only give you hassles. as you loosen the string, there is less tension on the bridge causing the bridge to want to pull back, which means more tension on the strings...everything goes out of tune. don't try to tell me that it works either because i grew up with a floyd rose and have tried it all
Iinvisi6 Mar 2010
Sorry DeathMoth i love you

thanks aswell
so would that be bad for the neck maybe aswell? ill probably just set it up in drop d and leave it there
Sshutdown6 Mar 2010
yeh i think you'll find im the only one who thinks floyyd roses are shit on here, most ppl have balanced points of view and accept all forms of guitar where as im a narrow minded prick who shoves his opinions up everyones arse whether they were lubed up for it or not.

and to whoever it was that said you would never hear the difference in tone live, just not the case. recall the last gig i went to 'meshuggah' had 2 support acts, one had the usual metal floyd rigs x 2 the other had 2 x les pauls and the difference in the tone was HUGE with the les paul band. I might also add they were running similar / same amp setups (triple rectifiers). Just had that wailing frantic tone where as the floyds had that stale / flat sound..
DDeathMoth6 Mar 2010
definitely is a sound difference...but can also be attributed to the wood and amount of wood in the guitar. Les Pauls are fat, heavy cunts and hence have that kind of tone. most floyd equiped guitars are fair skinny and hence have a "smaller" tone.
NNenaeststas6 Mar 2010
What guitar will have tone similar to a les paul that isn't a les paul or an ugly metal guitar?
Iinvisi7 Mar 2010
thanks fellas
DDeathMoth7 Mar 2010
mr magpie you could try the ESP Eclipse. i've tried a few out and they're actually pretty decent. i'd probably buy one of those over a Les Paul. The quality of new Gibsons is pretty bad and the ESP's all felt amazing and had that big les paul kind of sound
NNenaeststas7 Mar 2010
Cheers but I'm not a big fan of the les paul shape
Sshutdown7 Mar 2010
"What guitar will have tone similar to a les paul that isn't a les paul or an ugly metal guitar?"

A PRS would probably do the trick ;-)

Any decent sized mahogany body guitar with glued on neck and the right pickups will have a similar sound to a les. If you go for those specs and look around the cheaper brands then shove a seymour antiquity or something similar pickup wise you might be able to get a decent little les sound without the les shape.
NNenaeststas7 Mar 2010
yeah cheers man ill just keep my eyes out for something nice
GGusface7 Mar 2010
God les' are ugly.
DDeathMoth7 Mar 2010
you've got no idea about style then
