Well said Deathmoth.

Are you a fan of SG's Mr Magpie?

Tones not exactly the same, but the theory of mahogany body and neck glued in is the same (minus the maple cap)

As shutdown suggested, PRS's are nice.

If you don't like the Single Cut shape, then maybe hit up the Custom shape.

Carvins perhaps also?

PRS's are great. the McCarty is inspired by the guy who designed the first les paul. you could inspect them.

PRS's aren't my type of thing, seem a bit sterile and lacking character but i won't deny that they're a good quality guitar

Yeah actually i dig SG's a fair bit. They fully slipped my mind for a while, i always forget about them. Wouldn't want to fork out the dough for a gibson though, which sucks. But I suppose i could find a decent alternate brand

if you like sg shape ESP do the viper. don't know much about the viper but esp make some quality guitars

yeh she's good man. still trying to perfect a few little hardware issues to prevent the D string from breaking at the bridge, going to get a new nut cut as i'm not happy with the action at low end on the high e string

but yeh twangs rad through the fender, does great rockabilly tones too. when i plug it into my stack is wails like a bitch, sounds really fuckin rocknroll
PPIG..8 Mar 2010
Haha nice!
Putting a new nut in my blazer next weekend.
Installing substantially higher frets than stock in it at the same time so the stock nut will be too low!

Subtract $899 off that guitar and thats what I'm going to spend

NNenaeststas8 Mar 2010
Definately seems like a nice guitar (for its price) but i think the shape is just a bit too wak for me to handle.
Iinvisi8 Mar 2010
speaking of les pauls
i have an Epiphone LP100 thats really light because the body is just one skinny bit of wood, it doesnt sound that good and doesnt feel the best either. who wants to buy it?
NNenaeststas8 Mar 2010
your a natural salesman

Schecters are brilliant.

Some of the best neck joints on Schecters too.

Perhaps consider the schecter Solo 6 and Tempest also.

Similar styles of guitar but different shapes.

Have been playing my archtop almost exclusively for the past few days (24.75 scale length). Pulled out the blazer for a lash (25.5 scale) and tried the same sweep patterns I'd been learning.....Ouch.

4-5 fret stretches not so easy anymore!!!

Does anyone want to buy a Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal? its in perfect condition and i haven't used it much at all
PPIG..11 Mar 2010
Nope, Suhr all the way for me!

The tough decision is what guitar to purchase next.

The Shortlist is: Jackson Dinky (highend) or Caparison Horus.

I hate making these decisions.
DDeathMoth11 Mar 2010
the Caparison's really are a fucking hot guitar ay
GGinger Beer11 Mar 2010
you dont even understand the things i would do for a Suhr archtop. want one soo bad
Tthe tormentor11 Mar 2010

tried to solder mine cause i thought there was a dry/loose conection behind the sleeve, but didnt work .any pointers ??
Ssome Rad old goat11 Mar 2010
make sure the metal is clean before soldering, also it helps to scratch the metal to ensure the solder joins effectively.!
DDeathMoth11 Mar 2010
have you put a meter on it to check you've got continuity? the cable might be fucked somewhere else
GGinger Beer12 Mar 2010
sweet set-up. what do the line 6 heads sound like? i've only ever really fucked around with the combo's
NNenaeststas12 Mar 2010
Dad gave me his 70's Fernandez strat, Its purple with a pearl scratch plate. Got a nice small neck too. Pretty stoked. Especially stoked on the fact that now i don't need to save for a new guitar.
MmegamanX12 Mar 2010
