whats a good electric guitar that's fairly cheap for beginner ..?
yamaha pacificas are great for the money I had one as a first guitar and still have it now.

If you're willing to spend a little more money then you could look at the Squier Classic Vibe series. I've heard only positive things about them.

Fuck yeah, Sienna sunburst strat looks amazing.
Also, post your pedalboards!! I've become a bit of a pedal nut and im curious.
At the moment, im using a Blacktop Telecaster -> korg pitchblack -> Boss Blues driver -> MI crunchbox -> EHX small stone phaser -> Boss RT20 leslie emulator -> MXR carbon copy analogue delay -> Vox AC30C2. Also im running a graphic eq through the effects loop of the vox which makes an unbelievable difference to the sound. To anyone with a valve amp with an effects loop, try it.
I'll post a picture later. Also, im selling a line 6 m9 pedal, same as deathmoths but smaller, and a vox tonelab le for anyone who is interested.

What do you heads think about compression? I think it would tighten my sound up a fair bit but then I hear a few people who won't use it or say you shouldn't etc..
Depends on music what you're playing,
I dont use it very often cause I like using the volume knob and the natural dynamics of a guitar too much.
However, if I'm ever doing any country stuff or doing a solo that I'm struggling with speed wise and I want to make it sound like I'm playing it right, I use compression. Like any effect, it has it's place.

wow... you glorious motherfucker
That's something.
keen to see other peoples pedal boards
nice shit mate
danyae: i'm personally not a big fan of compression either. it won't really "tighten" up your sound, it will more likely make your pick sound more prominent and enhance your sustain. it does have its place in some styles, like country as Ginger Beer said, and a light comp in front of a distorted/lead sound will give you longer sustain, but for regular riffing, comping and soloing, there's nothing better than the natural dynamics of a good guitar through an all valve amp

you won't get the tabs for that exact version. but i do have a transcription of the studio version which is pretty accurate.

Floggin a Line 6 M13 pedalboard. pretty cheap for the radness it can do. see the For Sale forum
haha david doesn't fuck around by the looks of it
does anyone know what squier basses are like? i'm not a fan of the guitars, are the basses any different?
danyae that axe is shit hot! fuckin good price too. well done
does your telle have an s1 switch on it deathmoth? plugged in this morning and lost signal right away getting nothing on either pickup then its fine with s1 pushed in?
started working again after pushing the switch in and out. seems to be a common problem according to the internet
i don't have an s1 switch. common problem. in fact, unless you're high end boutique hand made guitars, you can assume your wiring and electronics (no matter whether you've got a Fender, Gretsch, Gibson, Shecter, Ibanez etc) is probably gunna be a bit shabby. most of my mates who play professionally replace the pots, jack, switch and wiring (possibly pickups) before even plugging their new guitars in. the wiring on my Tele is shit and it's a US too. i just haven't bothered rewiring it completely yet (apart from replacing the shitty standard pickups)
