snow has been horrible... half of thredbo is open..
but it snowed 15cm's last night, so this might be the turn around for the season

Flying to Christchurch on thursday and heading to Queenstown on friday.. Anyone got opinions on the best mountains around that area? I'll probably be hitting up Coronet Peak and maybe head out to Wanaka too..
Singha_is: Thanks for the tip, just got my self another set. Only con i have found with them is they dont fit some helmets as well as others.
Pentium: Depends on what you like to ride. Personally i didnt really enjoy coronet to much. But if you just like cruising on groomers its great. My mountain pick would be Cardrona or remarkables (during the week). If you like riding park, make sure you check out snow park. That place was awesome.
I'm not too phased to be honest. I spent the last season at Norquay, Lake Louise and a few days at Fernie and loved all of them. Just all round terrain, and enjoy the powder..not so much into the park just yet.
Also left my board over there when I came back but am thinking about getting one off a mate tomorrow..

Going down to Perisher on the weekend of the 9th and 30th of August fuck yeah, hope the snow's good.
Coronet peak was fairly average and quite icey.
Drove through Arthur's pass and stopped off at Porters mountain.. Was bloody amazing minus the fact that the whole mountain is run by T bars.
Then we head out to Mt. Hutt near Methven. That place is incredible!! Such versatile terrain with a decent terrain park and various little bowls and endless groomed runs a few Km's long. Would definitely recommend if you're ever near Christchurch in the winter time.

been lurkin on this site for a long while now, never posted anything though,
the reason this is now changing is, last week i went snowboarding for the first time ever and am now deadset so geed on it its not funny, like that same feeling when you first started skating and you're just like sheet this is all i want to do from now on. now back to the reason im posting, im currently on a road trip around australia in my van with no commitments to be anywere, and having now been to the snow am thinking of putting the rest of my trip on hold and following the snow to canada.in a few months.
im just wondering weather anyone could shed some light on places to go, personal experiences, or even on an off chance, be keen to hook me up with some contacts, or mates over there who'd be keen to let me steal some floor space, would be sick to meet some new people who'd just be down to snowboard an party haha

I feel as if I try to 'ollie' too much ALL THE TIME which puts me out of balance. Any pro tip for hitting jumps? Stubborn skateboard habits hey haha trying to pop big then it just throws my centre of gravity out then I'm on my asss *sigh*

yerp, perisher is done for. im leaving on the 17th, been here the whole season its definitely seen better days. with jumping do exactly that, jump. off your toes or heels, try and ditribute your weight even over both feet. when your board compresses at take off thats what gives you your 'pop'
